This review is from: Summer Calling (Audio CD)
This album is masterful. Radio Edit, the first track, allows Mavie Marcos to express her incredible vocal range. She provides a lyrical storyline unique to the trance world. She is the highlight of the ablum. The following two mixes by Gabriel and Dresden are powerfully engaging and I could feel myself really drawn into the album.
DJ Tomcraft's contribution has a funky spacy feel to it and I have to admit I wished I was at a club when I first heard it. I liked its laid back style but it still pulled you forward. Mavie's lyrics provide an angelic feel to the song as it starts to increase pace.
The overall album seems a little disjointed. The songs don't flow together real well but that is splitting hairs. Clearly the trio of Marcos, Gabriel and Dresden is talented and we will be seeing more of them in the future. Recommend this album to those that are looking for a serious trance effort.
