About the Author

Diane Smith is co-host of Connecticut's top-rated radio morning show, heard on WTIC NEWSTALK 1080. She produces programs for Connecticut Public Television (CPTV) based on her popular series Positively Connecticut, and she is the author of three other books about Connecticut. Diane was a news anchor and reporter at WTNH News Channel 8 in New Haven for more than 16 years, where her reporting earned her an Emmy Award. She lives in East Norwalk, Connecticut.

Having lived in Connecticut when Diane Smith had her "Positively Connecticut" series on TV, I was thrilled when I got my hands on this book. Now that I live in Florida I love this book even more.

Not only is this book a great reflection of how beautiful Connecticut really is in summer, it is a terrifc photo essay of the special things and places that make the Nutmeg State so unique. I especially enjoy seeing the places that populate my Connecticut memories along with learning some things about those places that either I didn't know or have forgotten.

If you love Connecticut and its rich history, or if you know someone who has moved away, this book is perfect. It makes a great gift or a cherished reminder of the things that make Connecticut so summer perfect.
