We purchased this pool due to the heat wave hitting NY the past week and have no regrets. The pool setup was extremely simple and after filling the ring with air, setting up the pump, filling it with water for a few hours and putting some quick acting shock in, we were using the pool the same day. I used to have an above ground pool and this is a great alternative, and much easier to maintain.

We have had this pool for 2 weeks and I am very happy with it. The pump doesn't move that much water but it does have a built in chlorine dispenser and seems to do the job fine. I bought a cover to keep out the dust and leaves but my dog has already torn that. The pool vinyl on the sides and bottom is pretty heavy duty - thicker than on the small pools we bought in prior years. For the cost, after two weeks, this seems like a great deal. As a side note regarding the other review concerned about the "chemical known to the state of California to cause birth defects", the pool includes a patch kit - the vinyl cement with the patch kit contains Toluene and is marked with that warning. I bought the pool after reading the warning but knowing that the warning is specific to the glue in the patch kit makes me feel better.

UPDATE: After the third season of using this pool, I thought it would be good to provide an update. The pool itself has been great. No holes, no leaks good as new. I have replaced the pump two times. I do run the pump 7x24 all summer. The second pump worked at the end of last season but this season when i got it out, it kept causing the circuit breaker to flip (don't want to mess with some electrical issue with a pool pump so I replaced it). Note that the pumps I bought were not the identical pump to the one that it originally shipped with and that each time i bought a new pump i did get one that was a little better. This year, I also had to replace the hoses that go to the pump. Both hoses them got cracks and leaked. Overall I would still buy this again. The replacement pumps weren't that much and the pool itself has held up much better than i expected.

Great pool for a terrific price. I set this pool up last week, this is the third year I'm using it here in Florida. Set-up time is about 30 minutes for laying out the pool, attaching the filter, filling with about 3 inches of water. At that point you fine tune the layout by pulling the edges to remove most wrinkles in the flooring. Then it's about 1 hour to fill and a summer of fun. I did buy the cover to keep out leaves from a nearby tree. The only problem I have had was caused by my crazy cat who wants to join me in the pool, her claws put a small hole in the liner which I repaired with the included patch kit. My grand kids love it! I did research on the other reviewers comments about toluene (I would not sunject my grand children to a known hazard) and my conclusion is that it's baseless. It's used extensively in paint products and glues, and does not cause cancer. But, if you snort toluene, it may cause kidney problems! (Ever read the gas pump warning in Califonia? "Drinking this product may be hazardious to your health").

My kids are grown but I love having a backyard oasis. Over the years, we've owned several temporary backyard pools. By far, this one has been the most maintenance-free. It’s not very deep, when filled to the bottom of the inflated rim it’s about four inches above my knees (I’m 5ft-4in). This means when cleaning, I can wade around without committing to a swim. The depth is perfect if your goal is to soak in the sun. With buttocks on the bottom, the water comes up to my chin. No floaties needed! COSTS: pool with pump $49; pool cover $12; two cheap 10ft. tarps for ground cover $10 (extra protection from yard stubble is peace of mind); extra filters $9 (I keep 3 on hand and rotate through them); 1in. chlorine tablets $12 (love these! they suspend inside the filter); water test strips $7. Total investment of $99… well worth it! No need for cleaning equipment, the best skimmer is a knee-high stocking stretched over a plastic hanger… it catches tiny particles that other skimmers miss.

I run the pump when the pool is in use and at least 12 hours every day. I change the filter and add a new tablet every two-three days, depending on weather and usage. I use the kitchen sink sprayer to blast the filters clean with hot water. Three filters will outlast the season. Let the test strips guide you to the proper pH. About a quarter cup of baking soda is all my local water needed. Using the pool cover is super easy. When getting in, begin by rolling one edge, step into the pool and continue rolling it until you’ve reached the opposite side. I drape the rolled cover over a couple of nearby lawn chairs. When getting out of the pool, simply re-align the edge of the cover and roll it back into place as you back out of the pool. It’s a one-person job!

I’ve had years of experience with these types of pools. They’ve been sturdy and dependable. I’ve never had to use the repair kits. I prefer the inflatable ring type, they’re a breeze to set up.

I was a little skeptical at first, but considered the price of the pool and decided to try it. I'm glad I did! It was impossible to put up by myself, but with a little help and fairly flat ground, it was a breeze! The pump is not the greatest, but it does work and after two weeks of everyday play, it's keeping my pool clean. The cover has a draw string making it stay on well. I have had to add more air to the top ring once, but I understand that's normal. It's only about hip deep on me(5'2"), but perfect for my kids. We have room to swim underwater, toss a ball, and lay on rafts! We are TOTALLY enjoying this pool! Keep in mind that if the ground is not fairly level, it will not fill up properly. We didn't level our yard in any way, just mowed down an area and looked for a spot that looked level. So far, so good.
