Great in the field, and absolutely perfect because it's organized by BLOOM COLOR.

This review is from: Summer & Fall Wildflowers of New England (Paperback)
I bought this book because I own other Dwelley illustrated books, and I've become a fan and practitioner of botanical art and illustration. I wonder what this writer/artist/botanist is doing these days, as this book was originally written years ago. But it's as fresh and helpful today with incisive descriptions that point out each flower's differences from similar ones.

Just a nice, nice little book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful book!, September 28, 2009
This review is from: Summer & Fall Wildflowers of New England (Paperback)
I've been using this book for about 20 years. I've also got many other guides, illustrated both with photographs and drawings, but again and again I come back to Marilyn Dwelley's book as the best to work from for the species I'm likely to encounter in the field.
