Straight from the city that brought you "REO Speedwagon" comes another of Champaign's great bands. This is pop at it's best, right out of the early 80's. Great harmony combined with catchy lyrics, what more can anyone pop fan ask for. It's hard to believe that they played at the local high school prom this spring! Look out; here they come.

I am a little biased since I am from the band's area, but I bought the album a few days ago and it is really good! If you like "poppy punk" stuff....enjoy, it is a great listen that keeps dragging you in (like weezer's blue album or a good 'get-up kids' track). However, if you are looking for something deeper.....search on.

Well, I picked up this album looking for something fun to listen to. I guess I got it, but sadly it wasn't as good as I expected. Don't get me wrong, this album is fun on many levels, but its not one of those that you would listen to over and over again. I did enjoy the "Wait for summer" song, and of course "All you get". A lot of their songs kind of sound the same, but The Red Hot Valentines are still pretty new, so let's hope they grow a little before their next album comes out. So, buy this album if you want a few catchy songs to listen to.

I can't recommend this CD enough. The band has a strong local following around the University of Illinois, but otherwise you've never heard them. You will soon, however. It's happy bouncing power pop with some keyboards to keep it interesting.
