This review is from: Summer Infant 4-Sided Changing Pad (Baby Product)
i bought this as a replacement pad. my first changing pad's foam (not sure of brand - was a cheap one= at or less than $20) was worn down after less than 9 mo of daily use with an infant. I've been using this pad for 5 months and it seems nearly as cushy as the day i received it. my son now weighs 22 lbs.i would agree that the sides are not as high as they appear on the picture but they still provide a nice "border" as i need for my very wriggly 15 month old. it somewhat keeps him from easily flipping off the pad. i should disclose i have only ever used this pad on the floor as my baby has been way too active for it to be safe to change him ON the changing table. i just push this pad under the bottom shelf of the changing table after each use. i wish i wouldve gone with this higher quality pad from the beginning as this is one of those items that you use 5 or more times a day for several years! UPDATE 10/2011 - we've had this almost 2yrs and still use it everyday (although only 2x a day now- since we are potty training). It's held up well - still in great shape.

I was looking for an affordable four-sided changing pad when I came across this one on Amazon.com. I decided to order it and I don't regret it. Between the holding strap (which was really easy to attach to our changing table) and the rubbery bottom it grips very well to the changing table (so much so, that we were going to build a wood frame to hold it and decided against it since it is unnecessary). The sides are tall enough that they protect the baby but low enough that changing the baby is pretty easy. Although we usually use fabric covers over it, we have had to use it on occasion without the cover, and the water-resistant cover is soft, not plasticky, and easy to wipe off. For the price, it is a great purchase.

When I was expecting (Dec of '09), I looked all over for a changing pad that had four sides on it. Most stores only carried the kind that had two and I wanted one with four so my baby would be secured from all sides. I found this one here on Amazon, and loved the fact that this is made out of Peva vinyl (not the PVC which is harmful). I've had it now for over 16 months and I love it. It's very cushy and comfortable for my little one, and at 16 months she still likes to lay on it. I always keep a changing pad cover on it, so that if there's a mess I can just remove the cover and throw it in the wash. There have been a few instances when there wasn't a cover on it and my daughter made a mess on the vinyl, and I just wiped it clean with a wipe. About those changing pad covers...most of them will fit with no problem. You just pull up on the corners a bit so it's not stretched across the middle of the pad. I highly recommend this changing pad, you will be happy with it!
