Great price, simple design!,

This potty seat works great! I got it for my 18 month old daughter because she recently expressed an interest in using a potty, but she is afraid of our big toilet. I wanted a gender-neutral potty that didn't do anything freaky like sing or talk, and this fit the bill. I also didn't want a huge splash guard sticking up between her legs because I new that would deter her. I just wanted something basic, and I couldn't pass up the great price!
She is of average height for her age (31 inches tall) and finds it a little difficult to get up into the seat without help, but one more inch and she should be fine. I only gave four stars because it is a little light weight and can be tipped over easily. My daughter can pick it up and carry it around with no trouble. She's fascinated with it and likes to open all the lids, and it easily falls over, but it is worth noting that this is probably not typical use! I don't think this affects the safety of the product, but I'm just not too thrilled to see my daughter carrying around her potty throughout the house. Maybe this will be a good thing in the future because she could use it totally independently and take it to wherever she needs a step stool, but only time will tell. All I know right now is that there is a potty in my living room and I didn't put it there. I would still buy another one of these because I think the price is fair for what you get and what it is used for.

Not a Good Choice For Boys,

This review is from: Summer Infant All-In-One Potty Seat & Step Stool (Health and Beauty)
I bought this potty seat thinking it was perfect, as it has no special effects that would distract my son. Unfortunately, the pee guard just isn't tall enough and the couple of times he's actually used the potty, the pee has ended up all over the floor. This would have been a great potty for a girl, but I'd discourage buying this for a boy.

(I initially got this potty because it was cheap, $12.99 at the time of my purchase. Also because my daughters other potty kept travelling with her between stays with me and her mother.)Well, not every childs physiology is the same, and neither is bathroom-sink height, so to be fair to this product...man. On paper, it seems like a great concept: multi-functional/transitional potty, and a step stool to boot. Here are the problems I ran into: As a step stool, it's not tall enough for my child to use for bathroom sink duties (washing hands, brushing teeth, etc.), but as I implied earlier, not every child is the same height at my daughter's age (two-and-a-half years as of this writing). I don't like how the removable peepee-poopie basin is not even slightly tapered. Seems like no matter how careful I am when cleaning and wiping it out, my hands inevitably touch the sides. And I have small hands (no jokes here, please)!! I'm no germaphobe by any means, but yes, for me there is a "yuckiness" factor to it (ok, I'm a germaphobe). My final complaint is - and I don't know how to talk about it without getting TOO scatalogical - depending on how much pee pee the child is going to make, and the force it creates, it winds up splashing up and above the removable bin. My daughter's cousin (who is the same age as her, and is a boy) will sometimes use it, and (while sitting on it) his pee will wind up missing the basin and wind up all over the floor. Bleeaaah!! To sum things up, conceptually it didn't measure up to my expectations. If you decide to order this, as a step stool, take into consideration the height of the product+your childs height, or just get a separate, taller step stool altogether. As a potty, I'm pretty dismayed. I will probably wind up ordering the Fisher-Price Precious Planet Froggy Friend Potty, because that's what my daughter uses at her mother's, and her mom would send it along with her when she stays with me. And yes, a separate step stool. 2115|R92L9SZAHVTE2;2115|RJPG4XC5PRS3V;2115|RPMNH262BDQD6;
