Summer Infant Baby's Quiet Sounds Video Monitor Set

I initially bought this monitor set because Amazon had a really good deal on them. We have four young children in the house, so I went ahead and bought two. I really don't know how I lived without this great invention!! I can look at my kids during playtime, while they are napping, etc. without disturbing them. The night vision feature REALLY works too!! I really like the secure feeling I get when I know that my kids are not getting into something they should not be and knowing that they are safely tucked into bed. Definitely one of the best purchases I have made this year!!

All your friends will make fun of you - as if it's not enough to want to play with your baby all day long, now you can watch her/him at night too!

The video works well enough for us, and the camera does a pretty good job of picking up decent quality. We wondered how it would work at night, and whether there'd be distracting lights, etc, keeping our baby up. It turns out the video works pretty well - we can sometimes tell if her eyes are open, and certainly can see whether she's OK. And the night vision lights aren't visible to the baby. There's just one green LED on the camera unit (to tell you the video is on), which you can tape over.

The audio on the main unit is OK. But the audio on the handset is a huge disappointment. Even when it's working, the quality is much worse than the Safety First audio-only monitor we've used. The tiny microphone on the video camera is probably a compromise to make it small - bad idea. It has a tinny, artifical sound. And the audio handset of this set is almost unusable, even on the other side of the wall from the baby's room, due to static and noise. So for us, there wasn't much point to buying this version with the audio handset.

Also, of course, being analog it's subject to interference. Try changing the channel, that often helps.

We were given this monitor when our son was 15 months old. I am more nervous of a mom than I would like to admit, so I wish we'd had this monitor from the start! It's fascinating to watch our little guy in his crib, but more imortantly when he's working his way to sleep at night, the night vision component helps me to check on what strange noises are coming from his room. It's just nice to know when you hear a giant thunk that you can check on the video monitor and see that he's just playing, as opposed to having climbed out of his crib.
We have some issues with interference, but we also live in a town house complex, and have ALWAYS had interference with the other 2 monitors we've been through.
But all in all, I wish we had gotten this monitor LONG before we had and look forward to using it whenever the next one comes along!!

I save about 30 dollar gettin this package,, on the stores youll find this much more expensive

It is great to peak at your newborn when he makes sound without disturbing him. This works great in the dark and in the day. I found myself anf my hubby just watching him sleep. We carried the video monitor in whatever room we were in when he was kittle now we just leave it plugged in.

Seems to work really well. I purchased it for my son and Daughter-in-law.
Wish I would have had one when my children were born.

Total junk!

Audio is terrible! You cant hear anything over static

Video is a joke, it is very poor quality reminiscent of the times of VCR tape playback with bad tracking (even with adjusting).

No auto alert/on

You have to turn it up so you can hear, but every 2 minutes it emits a Loud Static Squelch. Good luck sleeping next to that.

Night vision doesnt work. More like you need a light on to see like its daylight. A small nightlight or pitch dark isnt enough for it.

None of the Summer products work in my house. I'm still looking for a video monitor that won't knock out my wireless system.
