I bought this mattress pad because of the price and because it was one of the few that didn't have the plastic waterproof lining. The mattress that I have is already waterproof so I thought it would be very unnecessary to have a waterproof pad, and a lot of reviews I have read have said that there is a chemical smell to those products.
So far I really like this pad. It adds just the right amount of softness to the crib mattress; it's not so soft that it may be a risk. I washed it and dryed it and it still fits the mattress perfectly.
I would definitely recommend this product if you are not wanting the waterproof liner.
