The bed rail worked just right for us. Once you get it in place (it would help to have two people doing this), it stays on pretty well even when putting clean sheets back on. I did notice that it will not work on a bed box where the mattress sits inside the box because the rail has a plastic part that grips the box spring.

I purchased this bedrail for use on my full size bed, without a box spring, to keep my baby from rolling out of the bed. Setup was pretty easy, I was able to do it myself, though I could have used help to lift the mattress. The directions were very clear and easy to understand. After setting it up, it worked quite well. My baby was able to pull herself up on it, and it was very sturdy.
Folding it down was not hard, and could be done one-handed, but is much easier with two hands. All in all, this will stay on your bed, and keep your little ones inside.
The reason that I rated this 3 stars instead of 5, is that I will have to return it. My daughter has very sensitive skin, and cannot be near items that have been heavily treated with flame retardant chemicals without breaking out into a rash that turns quickly into large blisters.
Unfortunately, more and more baby items are sprayed with those incredibly toxic chemicals, and this is one of those items.
If your child has never had any issues, then you should be fine, and I recommend this bedrail.
If you are one of the few, unfortunately growing number of parents with a child who has had a severe allergic reaction to flame retardant chemicals from other treated fabrics (like a car seat), I would not recommend this item.

My toddler daughter has a platform bed as I didn't want her bed to be too high and therefore hard to get in and out of. This bedrail does not work well with her platform bed because the rail is set directly on the bed and right against the bed frame which ended up getting scrapped terribly. I don't believe this product works well without a box spring mattress, so the advertising on the box is misleading.

The reviews had me a little wary, but this fit my daughter's queen bed quickly and easily, set up was a snap. This has remained a sturdy and safe device then entire time my daughter has used it, and she's an active sleeper. The cover comes off easily for cleaning. Very happy with this purchase.

it's ok, but it makes changing linens a pain. It happens to be used on my queen size bed for when my granddaughter can't sleep and wants to get into bed with me to visit. She usually falls asleep in a few minutes, scrunched up against the bedrail, so I know I have to keep the bedrail there to protect her from falling off the bed.

This bedrail is pretty easy to get setup and installed. I was able to install it pretty quickly (under 10 minutes) on my son's twin bed. It is pretty secure - it fits snugly, like I would expect a bedrail to fit. The major problem I have with this is that my son was able to BREAK the plastic pieces that hold the straps together by simply rocking the bedrail back and forth. He is only 2 years old! I understand that this is not "normal" use, but you try telling that to a 2-year old boy. The plastic snapped right off on both under-mattress straps rendering this pretty useless. I only had this bedrail installed for 10 days, but now it is a pile of junk. I am going to try to find a bedrail that doesn't break so easily. Either that, or I will have to stop my toddler from pursuing his bodybuilding career.

I had choice paralysis when it came to a bed rail. There are expensive ones in the stores, a few expensive ones online, and I was quite hesitant before purchasing this one. This product installs easily on to a twin size bed and feels very sturdy. It holds my 40 lb son in the bed, he leans on it, and it doesn't budge. It's nice that it folds down also, so that way both me and the wife can sit in bed and read our son a night time story before he is swept off to dream land.
