We bought this monitor couple weeks ago and so far we are very happy with it. When we first set it up it interfered with our house phone and it was very static, but then we just changed the channel on the monitor and now it's quiet and no interference. It's nice to watch my baby while she sleeps and nice to hear her through the monitor if i'm in the kitchen. The little TV could be battery operated as well,if you have to take it with you somewhere (i take it downstairs to the laundry room,or it's nice to have by when i'm gardening while my daughter is napping). I highly recommend it to everyone!
One thing though,it doesn't "check" baby's breathing, like some other monitors do.

We didn't mind this product at first. It has decent video and decent audio. A neighbor nearby recently had a baby, however, and now I constantly pick up their monitor.. video and all! I regularly have to switch channels (there are only 3) to find the clearest picture/sound of my baby. Many times I have to listen to static all night long!
Probably not an issue if you're not near anyone using this same monitor but watch what you say and wear! It was very creepy to turn it on one day and see a crystal clear picture of a baby that wasn't mine.

After reading reviews of seemingly every video monitor system on the market, it became apparent that they all have their fans and their detractors. I was afraid to spend too much money on something that might not work well, but I still wanted a "quality" device, so I opted for this one. I have to say I have been very pleasantly surprised. The picture is clear, and the sound doesn't bother me at all -- maybe because I live in the city and am used to noise, but to me it's just a gentle white noise. Also, you can turn the sound off and just keep the picture (or vice versa) if you want. When my baby cries, the sound is crisp and clear. Basically, this monitor works exactly as advertised, nothing fancy, just an easy way to keep an eye on your baby at all times. I live in an apartment building and was worried about static and interference, but so far, none (I've been using it for about three weeks). Highly recommended.
*UPDATE 1/7/12* We've been using this monitor almost daily for over 2 years now and still have no complaints or issues. Definitely recommended.

I received this as a gift for my second baby. I was not really sure if it was something I really "needed", but we borrowed the monitor we'd used for our first baby, so we needed something, and since we were given this, I figured I would try it out.
My son is 11 weeks old and I have been using this since the third night he was home from the hospital. I could not get any sleep w/ him in our room, and out of desperation put him in his crib in his own room that third night. I hooked up the monitor and loved the fact that I could see him as well as hear him.
I did have to adjust the channel to "C" instead of "A" because of interference, but once I adjusted it, there has been minimal interference.
My only complaint is that the volume is very loud, even on the lowest setting. I just need to barely be able to hear him since I sleep so lightly now that I have babies in the house. And the lowest setting for this is just too loud. I even taped over the volume holes on the bottom of the unit, but it did not help much.
However, it makes no difference to us now, because we just leave the sound off during the night, having just the video portion on. It works well for me since I can hear him if he starts fussing, and can see whether he is in need of me getting out of bed or am I just hearing him fuss for a minute and go back to sleep. I love it. It has saved me many trips of getting in and out of bed to check to see if he's breathing or not. I can usually tell by staring at the monitor for a minute or two.
This device does not alert you if the baby stops breathing like some claim to do, but that was the type of monitor we used w/ our first son, and it was, in my opinion, just a gimmick. This is more trustworthy to me because I can see him w/ my own 2 eyes.
I recommend this to anyone who wants a simple device to use at night to ease your mind, and help you sleep! :-)

We bought this product to help with my mother. We wanted to keep her home for her hospice care. Due to confusion we were unable to leave her alone safely while we took care of her many chores. This product was a LIfe Saver, the Picture day and night was crystal clear and sound just as good. We were able to leave the room while continuing to keep our mom safe. most recommended

We have been perfectly happy with this video monitor. It works well day or night. We have only had some interference issues when there was construction on the road next to our house... but otherwise, we haven't had any trouble. Our neighbors have a different Summer monitor and we haven't had any issues with seeing each other's homes or anything. Our four year old loves to go up and talk with our one year old when he awakens from his nap, and I can listen in/watch while finishing up making lunch! Video monitors are a great idea! Just wish it didn't take up so much counter space...

This review is specifically for the 02220 model which I think is older than the one pictured on Amazon:

Pros:
I don't have a whole lot of good things to say about this. It may be an inexpensive option. That's about it.

Cons:
Volume control - Only offers a few predefined settings. You adjust the volume by clicking a plus and minus button. No knob. The lowest volume setting is still extremely loud. If you plan on using any kind of white noise maker, fan, or infant bedtime music player in the childs room, prepare to lose some sleep if this monitor is set up beside your bed. You will hear every little sound in that room amplified at an annoying level.

Reception - Spotty at times even at close distance with few obstructions between camera and monitor. Seems like the least little thing interferes with the signal. If a person sits by the video monitor or walks by, the signal becomes scrambled and makes a loud noise which you can't turn down (see above).

Power cord - Became loose and unusable at both ends after 18 months of use. I repaired the end that plugs in to the back of the monitor by splicing (soldering) in a connector from a different power supply. Now the end that plugs in to the outlet is borken. Had to order another powers supply from Summer ($20).

Overall - I would not recommend this monitor.
