This is a quick, non-technical review based on my experience using this monitor for three weeks with an infant.

Why I chose this model:
I chose this model based on the digital technology which I understand reduces interference from other electronic devices in the house or in neighboring homes or apartments. Reviews of other highly-rated models of monitors mentioned that is was an issue.

Pros:
*Sensitive microphone on the transmitter that is in the baby's room, it picks up nuanced noises.
*The blinking light indicator shows sound volume - the light indicator bar changes from green to red as the noise level increases. This helps to show you if a noise is a low hiccup or a loud cry.
*Ability to use the monitor as audio only. If you are bothered by the light of the monitor screen at night you can disable the video screen with an easy push of a button.
*High quality video that has night vision. While the night vision display is black and white only, the detail is clear enough so I can tell if the baby's eyes are open or closed.
*Ability to wall mount the transmitter or keep it on a flat surface, such as a shelf or bureau.
*Thermometer built into the transmitter, so you can see the room temperature displayed on the monitor screen.

Cons:
*There is a design flaw with the placement of the power button. If you have the camera tilted downwards fully (as we do because the transmitter is on a shelf over the crib) then it covers the power button. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but we have to move the camera every time we turn the transmitter off or on. This requires that we double check the monitor to confirm that the camera is at the correct angle to view the crib each time we use it.

This is my third video monitor. We had a summer handheld (died after a year) and the levana handheld (stopped charging after a month). I like how easy this one is to set up, the size of the screen, and ease of use - volume buttons on front, on/off for video on top. I also love the temperature indicator. My other 2 did not have the temperature indicator and I really like it. We close my daughter's door initially at night and then we open the door when we go to bed for more efficient heating. It's nice to see if it's getting too cold in her room while the door is closed and the opposite will be true in the summer. I don't really understand why they have the PictureMe mode to use it as a digital frame. Seems silly to me. There's no way to add pictures or get the pictures off the monitor and put them on your computer, so we'll only be using the video monitor mode. It is not a portable handheld as the others have mentioned, but since this is our third monitor we learned that we never use the monitor unless it's plugged in anyway and it is very lightweight and easy to move around. Even if my baby is napping and I'm outside I just plug it in the outlet on the front of the house. Because it doesn't have a battery in it to charge it's very light and will be easy to take to grandmom's. I have to mention that I purchased this 3 weeks ago and don't know how long it will last based on my experiences with other video monitors. I also have to mention the price has tripled on amazon since I bought it. If I had known it would go up that much I would've bought 2 or 3. I can't believe the price change.

It is fun to watch your little people play in their bed when they are supposed to be sleeping. We bought a second set to go with the next baby. They link together, so both monitors (we leave one in the bedroom and one out in the family room) will scan and find either or both of the 2 cameras that are on, and switch back and forth if both are on.

Occasionally when you power the monitor on - the video doesn't display. If you power it off, then back on again it usually fixes it. Also, one night the sound wasn't working. My child was screaming in her room, and we couldn't hear her. It only did that once - but once it enough I'd say. The video part was still working, and the volume wouldn't go up or down at that moment. It was like it froze, I couldn't even power it off - I had to unplug it.

I really like this product and bought one set for my toddler and then ended up buying a second set for my second child. The only issue was I was not able to sync the two cameras to one monitor per the manual's instructions and called customer service. They told me because they never produced an extra camera for this model (they've dc'd making this model) that we would not be able to sync two cameras to one monitor. However they were WRONG and you CAN SYNC two cameras to one monitor.

This is what I did to Sync the PictureMe monitors (Two screens and two cameras bought separately) together.

- Turn on monitor to 'Monitor'
-Turn on camera
- Notice monitor is automatically synced to one camera or 'Camera A'
- Press Menu on parents monitor and scroll to 'Camera B' then press the 'code' button on the back of the monitor.
- Within TEN SECONDS press the 'Code' button on the back of the camera you wish to sync. If you are having problems getting them to sync make sure they are in the same room.
- Your second video should now appear in 'Camera B' of your parental screen.
-If you wish to see both children at once just press menu and scroll to 'Camera A-B' and it will automatically switch!

Repeat steps with second monitor if you wish to have monitors in separate locations (we have one in our bedroom and one downstairs)

I hope this help's someone with the same problem!
