This is a great basic napper that doesn't take up a ton of space and it easily moved around. It will fit very small infants of about 10 lbs and keep accommodating them as they grow. The vibrating feature is the only drawback to us as it can get a bit loud at times, though I think this is mostly because it vibrates itself a little off kilter and has to be adjusted back into place. The following are pluses in our experience:

* The vibrating feature turns itself off after a while if you pick up the baby and forget to turn it off.
* It's very portable and you can take it with you easily so that you always have someplace to put the baby down for a nap if you're out visiting with friends or relatives.
* It's summer here in Florida and the venting panels do a lot to enable airflow and help keep baby cool.
* The design is gender and decor neutral so it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb and you can use it for boys or girls.
* The holster is much like the ones designed for car seat so baby is safely secured in place, even if they are a wiggler.
* The cover comes off easily and can be washed in a standard washing machine.

This is a great little folding napper and would make a great gift.

CONS: the vibrating mechanism quit working in less than one month! I contacted Summer Infant and they are sending me a new vibrating piece but it's been over a week and I still haven't received it. Also, make sure you purchase plenty of batteries because this napper blows through them quickly!

PROS: Both of my babies (twins) loved this napper. It really helped my baby girl with her acid reflux. I place her in the chair for 30 minutes after her feedings and it seems to really make a difference with her spit up and acid reflux.

The Summer Infant Resting Up Portable Napper is a great little seat for a young baby. According to the paperwork (but not mentioned in the product description on Amazon) is that it is for use by babies who are at the earlier of pushing up on hands or knees, five months old, or able to pull on the sides of the napper.

I was able to use this for my grandson until he was six months old. He was born with a heart issue and had heart surgery at six weeks old. Because of the surgery and the underlying weakness of his heart, for his first six months, he was unable to nurse or drink from a bottle. We fed him by nasal gastric tube and the he had to be at the right angle for the feeding. Sitting in this napper was the perfect angle. I had him throughout the work week and so was feeding him the majority of the time. I was able to sit him in this napper and feed him. After burping him, I would sit him back in the napper with the vibrator on and that helped him go to sleep. I could then move him from the napper to his crib. Thankfully, with the issue taken care of, his heart and lungs were able to strengthen and he was able to move to a bottle at six months. I am not going overboard in saying that this napper was a major part of his routine.

While this is not the general story for this napper, I would say that I used it as much or even more than the average consumer. I am keeping it for visiting infants and when more of my grandchildren are born. It is lightweight, portable, comfortable for baby, and the vibration is just what baby needs to help them go to sleep While my grandson used it longer,I think that it might generally be the five months but it would depend upon the child. The napper was very easy to assemble and while light weight, it seems very sturdy.

I ordered the Summer Infant Resting Up Portable Napper for my daughter who is expecting her first child in December.
We opened and examined the Napper with my daughter-in-law who is a bit of an expert in these items, having bought or borrowed five "nappers" for her son, who suffered from reflux as a newborn and so, was not a happy infant.
Our conclusion was that the Summer Infant Napper was very similar to other nappers, but had two main differences which we felt would make this Resting Up Napper better than the others. First was the vibrating motor feature. I remember putting my daughter in her infant seat, nearly 30 years ago and then putting the seat on top of the spinning clothes drying as the motion seemed to soothe her. My daughter-in-law did the same thing 4years ago. She also tried an infant seat that she could manually rock. Movement definitely seems to soothe an infant and the Summer Napper has that movement built right in. The second difference, to us, is the best feature of all. The Summer Portable Napper is just that: very portable. It folds almost flat and is easy to carry with one hand, while carrying the baby in your other arm. It's very easy to transport from room to room or to and from the car. This Napper would be easy to transport almost anywhere, and it also folds up nicely for storage. Even if my new granddaughter is the perfect baby, I still think the Summer Napper will be used, and if the baby is a bit fussy, I predict the Summer Infant Resting Up Portable Napper will see lots of use. I highly recommend this product, but will report back if any problems occur when it is used " for real."
