Customer Reviews

I highly recommend this product to any parent.

The velcro on these are really strong, so the baby can't wiggle out of the swaddle (like with a traditional blanket swaddle).

Our little 3 month old was too big for the smaller size of swaddle me, so these larger sizes were great for the next month.

My two month old is already 14 lbs and has outgrown his small/medium SwaddleMe. I just got the Woodland Friends 2 pack large SwaddleMe blankets and I think they'll work great. They came one with the woodland friends print and the second as green. The woodland friends swaddle is made out of a different material. It's not as soft as the green one (hence the 4 stars), but it is cute. As for those who think that the large is too big and gets around their babies' faces, I wrap the swaddle just below the shoulders, around the arms. I did this with the small/medium, too. It seems to wrap well around my baby and should keep him snug. Check out the photo I'm posting. I'm especially happy with the price since I'm only planning to use these for a month or two until my baby can roll over.

UPDATE 8/29/12: I've also noticed that the woodland friends print swaddle is not the same as the green swaddle. Besides being more rough and less stretchy, the wings of the swaddles are a different length (see picture). With the woodland print, the left wing does not wrap over my baby's right arm. I'm afraid it makes it a little less snug. That being said, I'm still glad I purchased the item because of the price for how much I'll use it. It's also convenient quick to put on, unlike the miracle swaddle.

The fabric is also lighter than my small/medium yellow cotton knit SwaddleMe I purchased two years ago. I actually like this, since my baby was sweating up a storm in his previous swaddle.

UPDATE 1/5/13: I guess I have one of those babies that needs to be swaddled for a long time. My baby is 6.5 months and I am now re-ordering this item. After about two months, we started double swaddling the baby to provide extra security so that the velcro would not come undone.

We've been using the small/medium Swaddleme's since our little girl was born and they have worked pretty well up until recently. She has pretty much always been able to wriggle one or both hands out of the top of them but they still kept her from flailing with the startle reflex so they worked for us. However, she is about 12 pounds now and despite the fact that the small/medium swaddleme's are supposed to fit up to 14 pounds, she has outgrown them. So, I ordered three of the large size, thinking that they must just run small and she'd fit them even though they are supposed to start at 14 pounds. Well, these don't fit either. They are way too big so the material ends up over her face. We tried folding the top down on the inside and she still manages to get the material up by her face and to make matters worse, the material gives her a rash where it rubs against/irritates her face and neck. I wish I could return these but have all ready thrown away the packaging and washed them. I will be spending the extra money and trying the Woombie next...

Until my baby grew out of them, these were my absolute favorite swaddle blankets.

1. Compared to some other swaddling options out there, these are relatively inexpensive.
2. The velcro is strong enough so that once you get your baby wrapped snuggly, they are unlikely to wiggle back out. Not that he NEVER wiggled back out, but when he did it was usually because I didn't put his arms in just the right spot for him.
3. This particular pack is made of a thinner cotton, which was perfect for my summer baby. It was easy to keep him comfortably contained at night without worrying about him overheating. There are other material options to fit the needs of the season, of course.
4. Unlike a standard square swaddling blanket, you don't have to worry about your baby accidentally covering his or her face with the blanket in their sleep. Especially for a first-time parent, that's a special kind of paranoia. The SwaddleMe blankets helped me to stop worrying about THAT at least.
5. This swaddle is fool-proof for the most part. There is a bit of a trick to getting it just right, but it's still easier than actually swaddling. My husband could do a tight, unbreakable swaddle with a regular blanket but I just never could get the hang of it. The SwaddleMe saved me on many occasions!
6. The only other kind of swaddle I have is the Halo Sleepsack. Compared to that, this is a lot less complicated. I also found that the SwaddleMe worked much better for my skinny baby, especially in the beginning. His arms would escape from the Halo seconds after getting it on him. Now that he's getting a bit bigger (5 months) the Halo works okay, but I still get a much more dependable fit for my little guy (who still only sleeps soundly at night when swaddled).

These things are magic and are totally worth $8 each. We use them all the time for our 6-week-old. We keep one upstairs where she sleeps overnight and one downstairs for naps during the day. Swaddling makes a huge difference in getting her to fall asleep and stay asleep.

They are so easy to use - pull the baby's legs in the bottom pouch and pull up the chest piece, pull the left piece over one arm and tuck it behind the other arm, and pull the right piece over to the left side and velcro. You can easily adjust the tightness and swaddle with arms in or out.

I love the design of the Sweet Trees, and it's nice to have one solid and one with the cute pattern to mix and match with busy or plain onesies. You can't beat the price or design options! I highly recommend these and will be giving them to my new mom friends.
