Worse than the old model. Do not recommend.
on October 22, 2014
I am very unhappy with this purchase. We upgraded from the slim and secure monitor. We had two cameras and one monitor and after approximately two years it was almost unusable. We used the loyalty program to get a large discount on this model. We also purchased an additional camera. I am very unhappy in the quality of picture, the high-frequency takes up all of our Internet bandwidth and I can't see anything on my phone Internet, also the design of the monitor is terrible. For someone who's going to be using it in the dark it makes absolutely no sense to have 5 of the exact same buttons on the front of the screen. At least with the first model it had some sort of raised bumps so you knew what you were feeling.
my biggest issue with this monitor is the tackling switch to go between camera 1 & 2 is buried 4 steps in and near impossible to find in the middle of the night. They did not think this one through. once you are actually in scan mode you cannot switch from camera one to camera two without hitting another four or five buttons and you exit scan mode any time you touch a button on the monitor.
when the camera is in color, meaning there is light in the room such as in daylight, the quality of the picture it's ok not even comparable to my old model. However at night nothing is distinguishable. There is even a zoom button which is the most prominent button on the handheld monitor like I'm going to use that so much, and once you zoom in I can't even tell what I'm looking at.
bottom line if you want a multiple camera system do not buy this monitor. If you want something that will not interfere with the frequency signals in your house do not buy this monitor. If you want something that's going to last you several years I would not recommend Summer Infant.
