Book Description

February 15, 2008
The summer of 1964 certainly was eventful, but it's nothing compared to what's coming to the Brooke family and to Hollyhill, Kentucky. David finally gets up the nerve to pop the question to Leigh and wedding plans are in the making. But the past is coming to call on many in Hollyhill, threatening to destroy the relationships that everyone thought were so strong. Two people--one David thought was gone for good and the other no one's ever heard of--are making their way to the small town and promise trouble. This complex and well-written story is the perfect conclusion to the Hollyhill story. With true-to-life family drama, refreshing humor, and lovable characters, Summer of Joy will delight readers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Story, March 24, 2008
This review is from: Summer of Joy (Hollyhill Series, Book 3) (Paperback)
I loved this book just as much as the others, however, it would also be good as a stand alone. There's humor, romance, mystery, drama as well as good spiritual advice all tied into one book. Ann is a wonderful author and all of her books are good reading. If you have read the first two series you will definitely want to read this one as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful enjoyable read, March 22, 2011
This is the 3rd and final book about the Brook family. After struggling through several problems in the small community of Hollyhill, Kentucky, things seem be simmering down and everyone is looking forward to hear of wedding plans. But can David find the nerve to ask the could be bride?
And just when David thinks things are calm and quiet, and he's overcoming his nervousness, the past comes back to haunt him. The community is again in a whirlwind when two people show up unexpectedly.
Another wonderful story from Ann H. Gabhart, full of family, friend, love and just enjoyable characters.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Summer of Joy (Hollyhill Series, Book 3) (Paperback)
This is the third in a series. Although they can be read in any order it is more enjoyable to read in the order as written. I purchased all three books from Amazon. Shipping was fast and they arrived in great condition. The characters develop during the stories in a very real way. I loved the story and would recommend to anyone wanting a good, strong, intersting tale of decent people with a few problems and how they overcome and prevail. It takes you back to a simpler time in our past and leaves you wanting the author to add another book to the series. Very good read!
