Great Story,
This review is from: Summer of Joy (Hollyhill Series, Book 3) (Paperback)
I loved this book just as much as the others, however, it would also be good as a stand alone. There's humor, romance, mystery, drama as well as good spiritual advice all tied into one book. Ann is a wonderful author and all of her books are good reading. If you have read the first two series you will definitely want to read this one as well.

Wonderful enjoyable read,
This review is from: Summer of Joy (Hollyhill Series, Book 3) (Paperback)
This is the 3rd and final book about the Brook family. After struggling through several problems in the small community of Hollyhill, Kentucky, things seem be simmering down and everyone is looking forward to hear of wedding plans. But can David find the nerve to ask the could be bride?
And just when David thinks things are calm and quiet, and he's overcoming his nervousness, the past comes back to haunt him. The community is again in a whirlwind when two people show up unexpectedly. Another wonderful story from Ann H. Gabhart, full of family, friend, love and just enjoyable characters.

This review is from: Summer of Joy (Hollyhill Series, Book 3) (Paperback)
This is the third in a series. Although they can be read in any order it is more enjoyable to read in the order as written. I purchased all three books from Amazon. Shipping was fast and they arrived in great condition. The characters develop during the stories in a very real way. I loved the story and would recommend to anyone wanting a good, strong, intersting tale of decent people with a few problems and how they overcome and prevail. It takes you back to a simpler time in our past and leaves you wanting the author to add another book to the series. Very good read!

This is a down to earth book about a family that feels as real as any family in a small town. It is funny and sweet, with just enough suspense and crisis to keep it interesting. I recommend reading the other books in the series, Scent of Lilacs and Orchard of Hope, but you could read this book without reading the others first, because it stands alone as a story all its own. Ann H. Gabhart is a writer that knows how real people think and feel. This is just a delightful book.

A small Kentucky town on the verge of joy may collapse into the verge of chaos. "Summer of Joy" is the story of David Brooke, a man trying to find the courage to pop the question to his longtime lover, and his small Kentuckian hometown. The past is returning to bite David in the rear, drama and chaos coming with it in this deftly written and intriguing story by accomplished author Ann. H. Gabhart. Highly recommended to fiction and romance shelves everywhere.
