This is full of great, thought-provoking songs, but the best is the combination of 'Row of Small Trees' that blends perfectly into 'Outside Track' - musically and lyrically it works great, lots of energy and depth, but the violin solos in both songs are stunning. Row of Small Trees is an interesting examination of the process of grief, I don't think I've ever heard a song handle this topic with such strength, sensitivity and so positively.

Summer Lightning is one of those rare songs that stand frequent re-listening and still are constantly satisfying and nourishing - a masterpiece of imagary, simplicity, humilty, and devotion, great singing perfectly accompanied with sharp, clear and simple music, a song you can't help but like immediately that reaches all the way down to the depths. Completely satisfying. Music simply doesn't get any better.

Frankie and Johnny, while rather wordy, has great insight, also a strong re-listener. The other songs are good too, this is a CD worth treasuring.

Great live album. If you like Stan Rogers, you will definately like his brother Garnet. A mixture of haunting and amusing songs that demonstates his range and style well.
