Summer Magic was just that MAGIC. Caryn needing a place to find solitude after a bad marriage was just the prescription she needed. Summer Magic was just that MAGIC. Caryn needing a place to find solitude after a bad marriage was just the prescription she needed. But, she wasn't counting on sharing a house with a dream man called Logan. Now Logan is looking for a place to hide to come to terms after finding his bride to be fanning the sheets with his friend and best man. Now he never told his bride to be why he was breaking off the marriage. Both Caryn and Logan know the couple who rents their house to them for the summer, but the couple fails to tell them that they will have company. Caryn, puts a wall up to not let any man in, but her wall is slowly crumpling until that magic night they made love. She never thought a man could love her so tenderly as Logan did and Logan never thought that a woman can give so much passion. I highly recommed this book. It took me just 2 hours to read. Since reading I have re-read the last 2 chapters over again. This is a must for your collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this story!, October 22, 2001

Caryn Edwards came to Marble Island to get some peace and quiet. She has been through quite an ordeal with her failed marrige. She was also looking forward to a break from school. She taught Home Ec. She decided to take her friends up on the offer to rent their summer home while they were away. What she didn't count on is having a housemate.

Logan Prescott was getting away for some peace from a shock that changed his life. He was renting his friends summer home on Marble Island, but was surpised to find a beautiful woman would be sharing the home with him.

Summer Magic is actually one of my favorite stories by Ms. Alers. This is a true romance. You actually watch the characters fall in love right before your eyes. Yes, they both have issues, but they find solace in each other. They then realize they can work through things together.

Ms. Alers stories are always wonderful. No matter what the topic is, she does a marvelous job. Even her novellas are wonderful. I have all Ms. Alers published works. She is very well known for her Hideaway Legacy Series. Summer Magic, Home Sweet Home are two of my favorite stories outside the Hideaway Legacy Series. Get them !!

The rest becomes impossible when they find themselves attracted to each other. Can they move beyoned the past to find true love.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Summer, April 19, 2001
This review is from: Summer Magic (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
What else can you expect from Rochelle but a summer of sizzle and love. I have enjoyed the Hideaway series and this book is no exception.

Logan Prescott is an intelligent, too fine specimen of an African American man that a week prior to his wedding has found his fiancee' in bed with a member of his wedding party. He calls off the wedding without ever telling anyone why and goes into hiding at his best mans summer home. Caryn Edwards is a woman recovering from a bad marriage and equally bad divorce from an abusive husband, she needs to relax and her friend has promised her the use of her summer home, as fate would have it she and Logan are sharing the same place.

Logan is not looking to become attracted to Caryn she is so unlike the women he would usually date, Caryn wants to heal from the deep wounds caused by her exhusband but Logan proves to be a distraction. Both Logan and Caryn's initial ruse of being more than housemates to allow them the solitude they seek develops into an attraction they both try to deny. Logan unexpectedly meets old collegemates that both recognize Logan and Caryn may have more than pretense of emotions.

Logan and Caryn are torn in not wanting the other to know what is in their heart, but they overcome the fear of past hurts to give them a future of more than one summer of magic.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a wonderful way to spend a rainy Saturday afternoon!, June 27, 1999
This review is from: Summer Magic (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was what I call a hesitation buy--I hesitated to buy it because I didn't think I was going to like it. Having just finished two of the Hideaway series books, I'd gotten used to spellbinding action combined with romance from Ms. Alers.

However, Summer Magic turned out to be one of the best purchases I've made this year1 i absolutely adored Caryn and Logan, and I agree with a previous reader who would like to see more of their story. The small-town setting in no way diminished the passion and romance that I've come to expect from Ms. Alers. Summer Magic lived up to its title and more than met my expectations. From the first page to the last of Caryn's journal entries, I was completely drawn into this story and hated to see it end. Good job, Ms. Alers.

This review is from: Summer Magic (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the first novel I have read by Ms. Alers, and I really did enjoy it. Not only was this a good love story, but also a very peaceful reading. Summer Magic is a good book to read on a rainy day. I was so into this romance between Caryn and Logan that I could not put the book down. Like so many others, I cannot wait to read a sequel to this story.

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Man that Logan Prescott!, November 2, 2000
This review is from: Summer Magic (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This was my very first book by Alers and it was off the chain. "Summer Magic" is my second favorite book of all times. It was all of that. The plot for the story was great along with the setting. And the characters!! Logan is very close to being ever woman's dream, talk about dreamy!! I tell you that Caryn was a very lucky lady to have a man like Logan's attention on her only. I loved thier story! It would be great to hear an update on Caryn and Logan along with Cynthia and Ham in other book! Much love Alwe!

5.0 out of 5 stars Summer Love, June 15, 2000
This review is from: Summer Magic (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is one of my favorite books. I have read it over and over and each time I like it even more. Caryn and Logan's romance was a wonderful love story.

Caryn first marriage left her with hidden scars and she did not want to open up to Logan for fear of repeating heartaches. Logan also had a rough time in the love department. But the love and passion that they shared was truly special.

If you have not read this book, please do you will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Magic of A Summer Vacation, April 16, 2000
This review is from: Summer Magic (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
As a Rochelle Alers fan, I can only say she delivers asusual. If you are new to this author she has a way with her novelsthat captures the reader as if they are in the story. Here two people meet by ending up sharing the same summer home but that does not mean they enjoyed this at first. I enjoyed the way the author develops the relationship with Caryn and Logan because they have no choice but to become attracted towards one another. The book has lots of humor and intimacy to keep the reader interested. If you are new to Rochelle Alers check out some of her other great books: Home Sweet Home, Island Magic, Harvest Moon, Hidden Agenda, Vows, Hideaway Legacy and Happily Ever After. END
