Summer of the Spanish Woman is a wonderful book that blends a romance with the terrible times of World War I. I have read this book twice and keep it in my collection as one of my favorites. I am looking to see if Ms. Gaskin opted to write a sequel to this wonderful novel.

For a brief time I feared this was going to be a bigger than could be imagined love story but it turned out to be a very fine historical novel. I also would like to research this book to see if a sequel has been written as it was a fantastic read and opened my eyes far greater to Spain.
