From School Library Journal

Grade 10 Up–This sequel to Summer Boys (Scholastic, 2004) stands on its own. The Tuttle girls are getting ready for another summer at the family's beach cottage. Beth, though excited about spending time with her cousins, is depressed over leaving her boyfriend, George. Sisters Ella and Kelsi have mixed feelings about the upcoming summer as well. Kelsi had a horrific breakup the previous year and wants a boy-free vacation so she can hang out with the girls and have fun. Ella, the party animal, is tired of all the hook ups. All she wants is a committed relationship with a nice guy. Unfortunately, this summer turns out to be filled with more drama than any of the teens could have realized: Beth is hanging out far too much with a George-look-alike lifeguard; Kelsi keeps running into frat boy Tim, who is totally not her type, and Ella has found the perfect boy, but can't seem to attract him–a first for her! The teens are believable characters and their experiences will have readers laughing and crying along with them. There are episodes of drinking, serious making out, and discussions about sexual encounters, but there are no graphic scenes. Written in an accessible style, this romance will attract both avid and reluctant readers.–Heather E. Miller, Homewood Public Library, AL

5.0 out of 5 stars liked it better than the first although i wanted to smack the girls at times, July 25, 2005
An extravagant sequel to Hailey Abbots original Summer Boys. This sequel takes place where the original did, Pebble Beach. It has the girls from the first summer excluding Jamie who goes off to a writing course for the summer and including Kelsi whose boyfriend broke her heart last summer. Beth this summer is trying to survive being without George, her wonderfully sweet and funny boyfriend who has to stay home for the summer and work while Beth goes to the beach. Ella who is trying so hard to give up her wild ways and become a one-man woman. And Kelsi, who had her heart broken last year, is trying to find love. During this summer secrets will be reviled that could either make or break relationships and in the end the reader will be satisfied...I think this book is better than the first.

4.0 out of 5 stars great!, June 29, 2006
A Kid's Review
Next summer is better than summer boys. The tuttle girls (kelsi, ella, beth minus jamie) go back to the beach. Beth is totally in love with george but sad that he can't go with her this time so she can't help but like the attention of the hot lifegaurd. Kelsi, after what happened last time, wants a boy-free summer but keeps seeing the frat boy Tim, who she thinks is not her type but who knows? :) Ella, is tired of all the hookups and just wants a perfect guy. She finds one, but for once, she can't attract him!

I loved the ending. It's wonderful. Such a happy ending. Can't wait to read 'Oh Baby'!

4.0 out of 5 stars Light hearted Beach read, April 21, 2006
This is a good book to take to the beach. It's really short but packs a punch; one that could be absorbed easily in a day. Unlike like most teen chick lit books it's about normal like girls. They aren't ridiculously rich nor obscenely gorgeous, so it's easy to see yourself in them. Three cousins that go through ups and downs about how they should feel verse how they do feel. You root each one of them on, but you know they'll end up back to the old familiar ways, or familiar faces. It's a good sequel and one that shouldn't be missed.
