Bought one 4th grade and one 3rd grade book for my kids for over the summer. LOVE them. They had all the right info in them for the grades they are entering (buy the grade level they are going INTO, not the one they just finished.) The 4th grade book has the projects divided up in the book into steps each week, the 3rd grade book has them all at the end in their own section.) We made volcanoes, bird feeders, artefacts and solar systems, it was wonderful. Very productive summer.

Summer Activity Book, Grade 4, is for those going into grade 4. There's exercises in reading, math, map reading, science and writing. It's organized into a timeline of about 2 pages a day, noted in a circle on the page top, Mon. thru Sun.. The pages are in big type and easy to read and understand, but come across as a little boring to my child as it's one activity per page. There are several "journal" pages with guided topics. There are also easy experiments to try that require some adult help. The ring binding makes it easy to lay flat. We don't want to do the work Sat. and Sun. during summer so that gets skipped but may be good for some families.
