About the Author

Donna Gail Kordela puts it simply. She always loved to write. Her first desire in life was to own and read a set of encyclopedias. That was when her parents knew their daughter had a curiosity and desire to learn. Her talent for writing began when a poem about Daniel Boone at age nine was analyzed at the university for its advanced style and meter. Her first story was a childhood dream about a horse and an owner who won it back. She wrote it while attending kindergarten in Japan.

As daughter of a naval officer and a working mom she traveled and lived in ten states by the time she was sixteen. She has fond particularly memories of New Mexico and Hawaii. Since then her home has been San Diego, California where she resides with her husband of twenty-three years, Bill, an electronics engineer, their two teenagers, a spoiled Boston Terrier, Chewie, and a dog Bryon and cat, Tiger.

Donna now lives in the country in a small city known as Poway where she taught continuing education for eight years. She holds a degree in Comparative Literature from San Diego State University. After working in the disability program vying for a job as counselor her desire to write took over her life.

Her writing career was evergreen and her sales in non-fiction boomed. It helped to cement a "can do" attitude that has given her a long and varied career as a freelance writer. A savory moment arrived when several editors told her she "couldn't" sell a piece on small talk and it was later syndicated by The Los Angles Times. This Christmas the same article continues to run. It will appear in Onyx an in-flight magazine.
