This magnifier is a flexible plastic fresnel lens held in the grippy plastic frame. It won't stand up to dedicated abuse, but its incredibly easy to use and makes things h-u-g-e. The kids love it.

This is for the little ones, but try to keep everyone else from taking it away from them! Magnifyer Screen seems lightweight, but actually very tough. You just have to teach little ones not to poke things with it. Has water vent holes for underwater use. Floats & your face/head looks like a cartoon. Great Product.

This item arrived scratched and banged up right out of the box. It doesn't seem to have occurred in transit, as the only other items in the box were the air-filled packaging bags. Those bags don't seem capable of scratching up a magnifying glass.
In theory I guess this could be a fun toy, but anything that is so easily damaged doesn't seem like much fun. Also, it looks cooler in the photos than it really is. Even not considering the damage, it was a bit of a letdown because the glass is wavy and opaque - hard to see through. A smaller, traditional magnifying glass would likely be just as good and would perhaps be less expensive and more durable.

I bought this for my 3 yr. old Grandson, and he thinks it's great. However, it arrived pretty scratched up, and the "lens" is very thin plastic. I don't think it would hold up well for rambunctuous kids, but he's pretty careful with his toys. All in all, it will be fun for looking at bugs, lizards, etc.

This is a great toy. I was looking for a magnifying glass for my young niece and nephew - this was a great find. It is safe, easy to use, easily shared, and durable. The toy came with a small pucker/flaw, but I decided to keep it anyway. My sister contacted the manufacturer and quickly received a replacement.

My 5 yr.old Grandson got this for his 5th birthday this week and it's been a really big hit. The lens is made of a pliable plastic so it seems like it will be durable and last. He's had so much fun holding it up in front of the familys faces to see how big their heads look!! It really is a funny sight and I would recommend this educational and fun toy for sure!

This is a really large magnifier. I bought it to use in my classroom during the school year and for my youngest child during the summers. I'm not sure how durable it will be. The actual magnifying sheet seems flimsy but I hope it will hold up to use. It does work well whne held up to whatever you're trying to enlarge, Haven't used it out doors yet, just to magnify a bull frog tad pole in a critter keeper.

My son loves his mega magnifier, but it requires constant adult supervision once kids learn how to use it to light fires. When sunlight is focused through it, it creates fires quite quickly and effectively. My son loves burning words into wood, burning dry leaves, etc. It's absolutely wonderful for lighting sparklers, punks, and snakes during the fourth of July. Our magnifier has been very durable. It has lasted through the abuse of two wild boys for several years and is still going strong.

This is a HUGE piece...at least one foot long and 8" wide...that's OK...but the 'plastic magnifier' cracked in a semi-circle when my 3 year old grandson accidently sat on it! That was the end of his little adventure. I would recommend this to no one. It looks fun and safe for the 'little one's', but the screen looks to be made of the material they make the 3D book markers out of and cannot be sat on or stepped on!

My three year old grandson, the "bug observer" loves the magnifier--especially combined with the safari vest, bug book, and other things that we bought with it.
The original magnifier was damaged in transit, but the company replaced it very quickly and without a problem (Thank you!) |
