I like these dog boots much better than the other brands I have tried.

This would suggest that the size I got was not sized too large (see below).

These have AMAZING traction, but just too thick and stiff for dog to walk.

I bought these last week which arrived on time (Thanks Amazon)
I wanted to post a review because I sent back a pr before finding the right one.
I have a mini Aussi (about 25 pounds) and very active on the trail.
They are a little tricky to get on so if you have a fussy dog then just be patient.
the first round did not go well, I clearly did not have them on tight enough so they came right off
Round two was much more successful, I got them back on and snugged up the strap.
we were both on and off trail in the snow and they stayed on great.
we were with another dog that had another brand and when that dog went off trail the boot filled up with snow and we eventually had to take them off, but due to the sleeve on the Ruffwear for my Aussi it kept all the snow out and for the most part kept the paw dry.
Ruffwear also did a great job on the bending point of the boot, if you get the correct size then right where the paw bends is where the bending point is on the boot.
The little traction on the boots makes a big difference in the snow also.
Nice Job Ruffwear...... Thanks

First try out on my 65 lb. lab was a success. We took her out on a 5 hour hike through moderately deep snow and these boots were the first ones that actually stayed on her feet the entire time. Our lab is young, energetic and runs virtually the whole time we are out hiking. The only aspect of these boots that I would consider a "fail" would be the velcro. I have tried many different styles of boots on my dog and velcro just won't stay attached in snow. Once it starts to come off, it just won't stay together. The trick is to not mess with it by detaching and then attempting to reattach again because this only makes the situation worse. A 1.5" - 2" velcro strap would probably hold up well for long snow hikes but unfortunately none of these pet product companies have figured that out yet. I'm going to zip tie a clamp (or maybe even two) around the end of the velcro to see if that helps to keep it from coming loose. Simplest solutions first. The boots passed the most important test of just staying on though and the stitching isn't ripping apart like some of the other ones that I've tried.

UPDATE: After using these boots for several hikes of 3-5 hours, we have only lost one boot. I tried the sock liners with these boots and they slipped off inside of the boots and I think that may be why one boot came off. We decided to skip the socks and haven't lost one since. The key to keeping the boots on has definitely been the zip ties. It takes some extra time and putting the boots on goes more smoothly with 2 people. I hold the dogs leg and my husband slips the boot on. We then secure a 6" zip tie (thick) around the velcro straps in a very small loop and snip the extra tie end off with a good set of snippers.

Boots were needed with all the recent snow so decided to try these after comparing other brands. Boots are well made however they should reconsider where the Velcro strap tightens on the leg especially since more dogs now retain their dew claws. You must cinch the Velcro tight in order for the boot to stay on, but the strap is right over the dew claw hence placing undue pressure on the nail and skin. Also, disappointed that the fabric soaked thru just from walking during the snowfall so that her paws ended up wet anyway.

Excellent product. I have tried other doggie boots in the past and they either fall apart or fall off in the snow...not these boots! My boxer has used them for walks and outside to play in the snow and not once has a boot fallen off! The only issue we have had is that the directions said to measure her front paw for fitting...well her back paws are a bit more narrow and so the back boots seem to slide down on her foot more. I fixed this problem by using a pair of thicker baby socks to put on her paw before the boot and this helps to take up the extra space. Other than that, we love these boots! So much more durable and actually stay on your dogs paws compared to the cheap pet shop varieties.

My dog drags his front paws and I've tried several brands of dog boots for protection but none were durable enough so I decided to try these, despite the high price tag, because they're supposed to be rugged. Well, they're not. At least not on sidewalks. After just one 15-minute walk, they started to come apart at the toe and were already showing noticeable wear. Very disappointing for such an expensive boot, and the damage precludes me from returning them. My only "solution" (to protect the boot!) is to apply a generous coating of Shoe Goo before every walk.

Getting these on and fitting properly takes time and is a challenge, and if I don't get them on just right they slip down and my dog trips over them as he walks. There is only 1 velcro strap so I have to really tighten it down, which can put undo pressure on the paw where it naturally bends as he walks. I also have to be careful not to pinch the dew claw and make sure the strap doesn't rub against it, which causes irritation.

Another huge gripe I have is that THESE SHOULD BE SOLD IN PAIRS. Almost every dog has larger front paws. I had to buy 1.75" for his front paws and 1.5" for his hind paws. So now I've spent $110 and have 2 sets of boots that I can't return, aren't durable and won't last.

After 4 months of use there is only one positive: the gaiter does a nice job of keeping dirt, snow and other debris out of the boot...BUT the stitching is already coming apart. File this one under expensive lessons learned.
