This stand is so simple to use and it is extremely strong for how light it is.

this stand is one of the best(if not the best)climbers i've ever used. i have been bowhunting for 22 years and have owned @ 12 different climbing stands. this stand is light for a climber and easy to set up even in the dark - practice setting it up in advance. the finish is nice and durable. the packability is good for a stand that doesnt fold flat. the best feature is the comfort. you will stay comfortable in this stand for those all day sits during the rut. the seat is GREAT!! the stand comes with a nice 5 point harness. all in all, this stand is awesome and i'm not disappointed in any part of it. good hunting.

one more thing that is real nice about buying this item on amazon is that you have free shipping which will save you @ $30.

I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why I didn't purchase a climbing stand the first time around. I can hunt when/wherever I want now without risk of having a hanging stand stolen. This Viper is like a friggin' Cadillac when it comes to comfort and having to haul a measly 20 lbs. into the woods is nothing to complain about. The closest one in a Gander Mountain near me was in the next state, but through the wonders of Amazon and their free Prime trial, I had one delivered to my door the next day, and for about $45 less than the shelf price at Gander Mountain. Gangster!!!

The most enjoyable, quiet climbing stand I have ever used. A hunting buddy had bragged on his for years but I already had two climbing stands so I put up with them. Finally decided at 64 years of age to quit climbing until I tried his in my back yard. It was easy to put on the tree, light weight and simple. I now climb most of the time and can stay in the stand most of the day, the seat is so comfortable it is like being in my recliner.
The only negative I found was the way the top and bottom pieces fasten together while climbing, I tied a rope to a bottom corner on one side so that when I climb I flip it over the top and then tie it to the other side of the base. This allows me to leave the carry straps attached to the stand at all times.

This stand is a great product. Thanks Ted

My hunting experiences go way back to the days when Baker treestands were at the leading edge of deerstand technology. I have owned several climbing and hang-on type stands in the years I have been deer hunting. My son purchased a Viper SS for himself and one for me. My family thinks at 63 I shouldn't be 25'-30' up a tree. My son gave me a Viper SS to calm everyone. I feel this is the ULTIMATE complement for Summit products. This stand is relatively lightweight, quiet, and very stable. {It ALMOST makes you not want to wear a harness!:) } I only wish Summit and others would cover their seats with material that is both quiet and waterproof. Treat your stand seats/armrests with waterproofing to keep your bottom dry going to stand after a rain/snow thaw!

Great stand for a great price, very light pretty easy to assemble and is very comfy... I'm 5'6 165 and I find it very comfortable .... Highly recommend to any hunter... The part that hooks around the tree is a bit of a pain In the beginning but once you do it a couple times your ok.... A+++ thanks amazon

I got this climber after looking at many different models at Bass Pro and Gander Mountain. I never used a climber before, did one pratice in the backyard the day before opening deer season day. At 4 am I was climbing a tree at my favorite spot and was up in the tree in no time. I do recommend using the harness as as safety device in case you slips. It is a great climber with no flaws to speak of. Use the tie down stap to hold the two parts together to keep it quite when going into the woods. Very comfortable for all day sitting

Love the Viper. Perfect for me after first purchasing the Titan. The Titan is a great product too. It is too big for me at 5'8" tall. That was a purchasing error on my part. If you are a taller hunter(6'2" or so) I think the Titan would be your Viper too. Picking the right climber for your height is important as I've learned. I could use the Titan but it never felt quite right. 1. Carrying it was tough if I didn't cinch the shoulder straps way up. The jaws would catch on my rubber boots. 2. Climbing felt stretched because the wrap around bar on the top section was farther away from the stirrups than was comfortable even if I had the stirrups as far towards me as possible.(great ab workout though...)Lesson learned about the size of the climber. I was trying not to skimp and accidentally purchased a climber that doesn't fit. Climbers are like clothes I guess. Wear one that fits...
