4.0 out of 5 stars fyi
fyi they count bold, italic and regular as each a separate font. so really there are like 1333 choices, not 4000.

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your money
As a graphic designer for over 30 years, this selection of typefaces is pure garbage. Way too many cursive styles which have little practical value unless you do wedding invitations. The rest of the fonts are way to "kitchey" for my needs. That have packed this font selection for volume not quality. "Desktop publishing" came and enormous amounts of bad design followed...

1.0 out of 5 stars Worthless Collection of Fonts, April 28, 2010
This review is from: 4000 Fonts (CD-ROM)
Collection of fonts, horrible at best. If you are a designer, and you take what you do seriously, steer clear. I was in a hurry and both this item at Frye's Electronics. I think that was my first mistake. Anyway, I wish I'd read the reviews. All I really wanted was a font manager.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent buy, saves me time, April 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am designer running a small business on a tight budget creating educational materials for children 18 and under. This was an excellent buy for me and here's why; the fonts are extremely legible and fun/inviting (not wild and useless). I have spent too much time trying to find quality fonts for a good price and for commercial use. I don't have $200+ to spend on one font. The "cheap" companies that sell fonts online usually sell unreadable garbage. If you are designing materials that are to be more sophisticated, you probably won't find what you need in this set. Stick with Adobe or something else.

If you find only one font to use, it has paid for itself. And yes, it does count every form (bold, italic etc.) of a font as an individual type which is fair in my opinion as every form of a font creates a different look though related. So you are getting 1000+ fonts with many different forms or you are getting 4000 fonts. No matter how you look at it, you are getting a good deal.

1.0 out of 5 stars more like 4 fonts, April 16, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Total rip-off! First off: it claimed to work for Windows 7, didn't work on mine. Second: the claim for 4000 fonts is exaggerated by counting every font several times; once for standard, once for bold, once for italic, once for bold/italic, once for wide, once for condensed etc. Then the "different" fonts that they label looked more like the same four or five fonts over and over maybe with one letter different in each alphabet. Finally the font manager that comes with the product just sits & spins every time I try to browse for fonts to "manage". I have a brand-new computer, so there is not a problem with my computer... this product is a joke!

2.0 out of 5 stars These products are exactly as advertised, no more, no less, February 10, 2011
This review is from: 4000 Fonts (CD-ROM)
Font collections like these are all the same, X,000 fonts, mostly filler, crap you will never use. No, they are not misleading; a typeface is a style of lettering (Times), a font is a particular variation of that style (Times Bold Italic). So yes, this collection really does contain 4,000 fonts. And they are tempting because you want to think, "WOW! 4,000 FONTS! Just think of all the cool stuff I can do!"
Don't give in, or waste your money. Typography is like furniture, price reflects quality, durability, and value. 50 classic typefaces will last you a lifetime, and serve you far better than * 500,000 FONTS * ever will. Classic letterforms have been around for centuries, even millenia, for good reason. If you consider yourself a designer, invest in the Adobe Font Folio. It's all you will ever need. For everyone else, and for special purposes, use online directories such as fontscape to find what you need. There are many independent type designers doing great work--support them! Don't clutter up your computer with these bloated collections of castoff slag. Great type is great art; don't expect it to come cheap!

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice selection of fonts, January 3, 2010

There are a variety of fonts here, and as far as I can tell, each font is offered in a variety of typefaces (bold, italics, condensed, etc.). For this price, these are great. You can't load them all onto your computer at once, though, because the instructions state that your computer will run slowly if you load more than 500 fonts. Still, they're nice to have available for when projects arise.

1.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE -- This software is NOT compatible with Mac, May 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I downloaded 4000 Fonts because it was listed under 'Mac platform,' and the 'Systems Requirments' section says: 'Mac'. However, under 'See more systems requirements,' you find that the program is compatible with ' Windows® 2000, Windows® XP, Windows® Vista, Windows® 7.'

I learned of this after I tried to install the program, and got the following message: 'Cannot be run in DOS mode.'

I feel that Amazon.com is misleading consumers into buying and downloading a program that cannot run in Mac. BEWARE. Don't waste your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars a waste, July 28, 2011
This review is from: 4000 Fonts (CD-ROM)
I was really disappointed in these fonts. They are not much different than the variety I already have on my computer. I maninly use fonts for the occasional brochure, newsletters, party invites, etc. I was looking for some variety and some artsy stuff. I used ot have a lot of great fonts but I got a new computer and didn;t have the disc anymore. Thought this would be similar. I miss my cutiful, great north, toyland, etc. What a waste of $22.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was sent to Amazon's Summit 4,000 fonts collection link from a famous font site to purchase what I need.... which is Ciria-Bold for a client's biz card. Well, after spending the $8 it IS NOT in the font sets that I can find. If someone has this font please let me know. Thank you.
