Magnificent music,
By Ms. C. Verkade (Noordwijk Netherlands) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Sun Also Rises (Audio CD)
The Sun also rises is more than just an epic of a troubled young man in search of peace. It's a musical painting in the tradition of the great Dutch masters. To listen to again and again, discovering new treasures every time. With up tempo songs like Forever Now, the beautiful rock ballad Moods Inspiring Clouds and the soul satisfying Saevis Tranquillis. If you like Queen, the Scorpions and Alan Parsons Project, you'll love Knight Area.

Knight Area - Well Done Neo Prog From Holland,
By

This review is from: Sun Also Rises (Audio CD)
Knight Area is a band that sprung out of Holland with this their debut album in 2004. It is primarily classic / neo prog in nature, but with a fresh approach that turned a lot of heads in the prog world when it was released. The album was quickly followed by an invitation to the North East Art Rock Festival in the U.S. a rather heady achievement for such a new band. The album is a concept piece with lot of soaring guitar, wall of sound keyboards, and epic sounding vocals. Pretty much everything you would expect from classic progressive rock. The band never strays too far from this formula, but what they do they do very well. If you are into classic 70's sounding prog or more modern neo prog you should eat this one up.

Great Progressive Rock Album!,

Okay, I've only listened to this album 2 and a half times so far. It pretty much knocked me over from the first listen. Sometimes, it can be a bad sign when I like an album this much right off, but so far it has held up. This is the kind of album that I love to simply lie back, put on the headphones and close my eyes as the incredible music takes me to inner places far and wide. For reference, other groups that I really like are Pendragon, Frost, IQ, and early Spock's Beard among others. This is a really great album.
