Great artist, a real find,

I've seen him in concert twice now, the first time as part of a charity show. His talent was mindblowing, and a real surprise since I didn't go to the show to see him. He's got a unique sound to his voice, poetic lyrics, and performs like no one is watching, beyond his years (early twenties - kid will be a star). This record is great all the way through. You can find some of his newer recordings (yet to be released) on youtube. I particularly like "Farmer from the the West" and "Crash this Train." From this record, "Commodore" is a new favorite. Don't skip the slower tracks... I've grown to like these more than the ones that get more play/downloads.

Please read my review of 'Build me this'. The same applies to this album. Both albums are a must-have if you regard music as an essential foodstuff for the soul.

Mmkay so I needed new music and stumbled on this gem. =) Let me tell you, I've never been so glad to fall! He's got this beautiful whispery haunting voice that just...it does things! I love love looooove 'Abbie Martin', 'Our Brother's Blood' and 'Tell My Pa'. There's this like...really pure emotion that comes from his soul in all of his songs. I was sooo happy when his second album came out. I'm not as ecstatic about it as I was his first one, but it's growing on me. =) Looove him!!
