5.0 out of 5 stars The poets urge to portray ever-changing life, June 13, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Sun Dance, and Other Poems (Paperback)
The Sundance and Other poems is second poetry collection of Shyamkant Kulkarni, his compelling urge to protray everchanging life is evident in these poems. Shyamkant Kulkarni writes in his poems about love and faith, happiness and death, beauty of nature and lot about winter and Oklahoma's gales bringing storms and disasters. In poems "Sundance" and "Winds were howling" he creates successfully mistique mood to reveal the unknown threat of nature and reality of unreal, unknown howling spirits still prevailing in the depths of everybody's minds in these scientifically advanced era.His writing is universal in the sense he carries agony of the individual through his poems to the reader and surprises him with the connection one has with everyday insignificant happenstances.
