Zuni Calendar "Grandfather! Grandfather! Wait for me. Grandfather. Please." Black night hung low in Zuni. There were no stars. Snow was falling. It was piling thick and white on the sand and the pinon shrubs and the lonesome fields. Coyotes barked near the foot of Sacred Mountain. Their barking broke the night into falling pieces. Their barking shattered the stillness and the blackness.
