Address Sign,
By
This review is from: Solar Address Light (Misc.)
I was just a little disappointed to learn I didn't receive enough blanks to fill the space on the sign, but when I asked I was sent enough to complete the number. The only thing that bothers me is I put it about 40 ft. from the road, and you cannot read it from there. I'll have to relocate it closer to the road. It works very well, but just isn't quite what I was expecting. It's a good sign for the money, and the customer service is outstanding!

It does not light very brightly, however, it is easy enough to see in the dark. That is until the switch that turns it on when the light fades broke. Now it doesn't light at all unless I tap on it. It took about 3 month's for it to break.

Solar address light,

I see the other reviewer was able to obtain additional numbers, I was not. I cannot use the item because they only send 2 of each number and my attempts to get just 1 more number 5 were completely ignored. Don't waste your money, there are similar items on Amazon and mostly for less money.

Met all my expectations,
This review is from: Solar Address Light (Misc.)
The solar address light was packaged well and shipped quickly. It began charging with just overhead light in our kitchen where we assembled it. The instructions were good, not great, but it isn't complicated. The numbers are larger and brighter than a much more expensive sign that went through 8 D-cell batteries every 3 months. The true test will be next winter to see if there is enough daylight in our South Central Alaska location to keep it shining through the winter nights.

A decent light, with some limitations...,

This product pretty much lives up to its description (with some caveats). In the first two weeks of use, it has stayed on all night after 6-8 hours of Southern California sun. I haven't tested their claim of needing only 1˝ hours of charging time but it seems plausible. At night, four LEDs in the case illuminate the numbers from behind with a pale, blue light. While the sign may be visible from 500 feet in the daylight, the soft lighting makes it hard to see from the street at night unless the sign is in total darkness. The gray ABS case is not unattractive. It matches our house siding but may not appeal to everyone. A maximum of five characters will fit in the sign and, as has been noted, only one blank is included in the character set. More significantly, there is only one zero (with two of the each of the other numbers). A full complement of alphabetic characters (one of each of the consonants and two of each of the five vowels) is included but is of questionable use, given the five-character limit. The solar panel can be mounted up to eight feet from the sign using the wire that connects them but this does not allow enough distance to use the sign with the ground stake and have the solar panel on the roof. To install the solar panel on the eave of my roof and run the wire inconspicuously to the sign mounted halfway up our north-facing front wall required me to splice in an additional 10 feet of my own wire. There is no bracket included for mounting the solar panel away from the sign except screw holes for flush mounting on a south-facing wall.

Someone needs to review instruction book and supplied symbols.,

The instruction booklet indicates a minumum of 2 blanks and possibly up to 4 blanks may be needed.( the house number 1 would require 4 blanks ) Only one blank is supplied with the unit requiring a call to the company to have blanks mailed.

don't buy it.no wonder there is only a 30 day garantee like one of the other reviewers said i have had it only one and a half months and it will not turn on at night anymore. the batteries are being charged and are makeing contact in the battery holder. the switch that turns it on is not working anymore.

house number sign,

the product is great. well built, easy to assemble, and can be seen all hours of the day from the road which is more than I can say for some of the white back ground/black letter sign in our association. one suggestion I have is to include more than one of the black blank cards. I needed three so ended up using electric tape to create two more.

It is not very bright, but can be seen. You don't want a solar powered device to use too much power. Set up within 30 minutes.

I have had the Solar Address Light for about 6 months and it has worked flawlessly. You can see it easily from the street. I have had several friends ask about it and have referred them to Amazon.
