Sun and Moon,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sun and Moon (Paperback)
This is an awesome book! It's another one of Marcus Pfister's wonderful creations with beautiful illustrations and an excellent message. This book creatively explains eclipses for young readers in a context that they will enjoy and understand. Besides explaining eclipses, this book also explores emotions and the power of friendship. The illustrations are excellent, they are bright and vibrant with wonderful detail. It is an asbolute must for any classroom or personal collection.

Everybody Needs Friends,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Sun And Moon (Turtleback School & Library Binding Edition) (School & Library Binding)
Everyone needs to have friends, we all know that. In this story, the Sun is always lonely because he never has anyone to talk to and share stories with. The moon feels the exact same way. One evening, as the moon was rising, he noticed the sun off on the other side of the horizon. The began to talk evey morning and evening and became the best of friends. This is a great story to show how inportant friendships really are. When you don't have friends, you are ususally pretty sad and lonely. But with friends around, you can joke around, tell secrets, and just have fun. This story shows that importance and what it does for a person. Everybody needs friends...

The pictures are beautiful and will keep small children contented for hours. But,the prose on the other hand,is somewhat clumsy and seems to have lost something in it's translation. The book provides an imaginative and humorous explanation of a total eclipse. The illustrations are clearly done by the same man as RAINBOW FISH,the author of both books.
