The Cavalier King like Ziggy Stardust cannot be captured or exchanged. Yet unlike the doomed messiah whose pawns followed in legions of glam rock, the King emerges to play an offensive role and to assist the promotion of pawns/ the resurrection of felled players. In this sense, this album is invaluable to me... taking the nihilism out of punk and putting a legitimate glitter into rock.
