5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling blend of magic, adventure & intelligence, September 5, 2007

This review is from: Sun & the Serpent (Paperback)
MILLER and BROADHURST have done a fantastic job introducing a real pioneering spirit to the modern day quest for wisdom and knowledge technology based on a practical field study and interpretation of signs and clues left in the landscape by our ancestors. The SUN and the SERPENT follows their sojurn across the English landscape discovering and researching the ancient paths and churches laid out for us to follow, in stone and in rock.

Although the SUN and the SERPENT was first published in 1989 I did not get my hands on a copy of the 1998 edition until meeting Hamish Miller in 2004 on a dowsing workshop. Being new to the phenomenon of dowsing and the relevance of the magnificent structures along the St Micheal Line it was fortuitous to be able to take this book away and read at leisure. In addition to being full of interesting and relevant information illustrated throughout, the SUN and the SERPENT is also an exciting read as MILLER and BROADHURST recount their flamboyant adventures of discovery as they tour around the countryside being led by nothing but intuition and a metal rod!

Their ability to relate the multi-dimensional nature of subtle energy and its connection to both spirituality, local myths and legends, plus the impact on our physical lives, without coming across as new age hype is a great success. I can't think of anything more substantial, or argument more compelling, than one based on the application of natural energies within the construction of sites of earth worship built in the hardness of rock and stone. And on such a grand scale.

Whether a first time dowser or advanced and well read on earth energies I would still highly recommend the SUN and the SERPENT as a useful "reference text with personality" that describes in detail, the amazing serpent like electro-magnetic current that is the St Michael Line, and the interconnecting key sites of sacred space across southern england. This is the kind of book that both entertains and informs, that will never date.

Rgds,
Daniel John Hancock

3.0 out of 5 stars The Sun and the Serpent, June 22, 2008
This review is from: Sun & the Serpent (Paperback)
If you are into ley lines, then this book is a must for you. It literally maps the Michael and Mary ley lines (which originate in Cornwall in the South West of England) in the finest detail, and takes you on a journey through ancient history to present day. Not only will you discover where the ley lines criss-cross the English countryside but you will find out how the ancients used the ley lines to locate their sacred sites and activate their energies at key times of the year to promote fertility and harmony in the landscape and the people.
