this light works perfect for a small area 1 1/2ft x 1 1/2ft. perfect for starting seeds or keeping a small mother plant! surprisingly puts off some heat, so if that's an issue than t-5 florescence might be a better option. love the light and would purchase again!

Buying the Sun System light was a good investment. It was easy to install and works great. I plant a garden every year but I start from seed in the house first. I had no ideal room for it as far as sunlight was concerned so it was always slow growing at first. This year with the sun lamp everything is ready for transplant early and it didn't really add anything noticeable to the electric bill! I would definitely recommend the Sun System HPS 150 to anyone living in a northern state that likes to garden (whether that be flower or vegeatable).

Sun system grow lite works well.,

I first bought the LED grow lite to start some plants. It worked well but caused some 'stretching' in the stems so the plants would not stand up. I changed to this system and, even though it uses more energy and is warmer, the hood is well ventilated and the heat is not all that oppressive. The real difference was in the strength of the plants after about two weeks with the new light. My plants have taken off and are doing very well indeed. The extra cost of the system and the electric bill have been more than offset by the health of my plants. Perhaps I'll go back to the LED to reduce heat and energy consumption and see what happens to my 'babies'. Good product and works exactly as advertised. It really only burns the same power as a 150 watt incandescent bulb so the cost isn't really an issue.
