Editorial Reviews

From the Back Cover

Can Sun Tzu's 2,500-year-old secrets for winning wars make you a fortune in today's financial markets? For more than 25 centuries, generals and commanders won tremendous battles against overwhelming odds by following the uncannily effective battle strategies in Sun Tzu's classic treatise, The Art of War. Now megasuccessful securities trader and ex-soldier Dean Lundell shows you how to apply Sun Tzu's winning tactics to making enormous profits trading stocks, bonds, currencies, and commodities in today's markets. Financial markets, like opposing sides in a war, are in constant conflict. And like participants in war, investors in financial markets either win--or lose. Compiled in the sixth century B.C. from the teachings of Sun Tzu, a Chinese general and philosopher, The Art of War has helped armies win battles the world over, and is required reading at military academies. Dean Lundell has applied these teachings to achieving victory in financial markets--with amazing success. In Sun Tzu's Art of War for Traders and Investors, Lundell shows you--whether you're a seasoned trader or an amateur investor--how to come out ahead. . .and make a lot more money than "investment warriors" not armed with these key strategies.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid Reminders For Volatile Market Trading!, July 25, 2002

This review is from: Sun Tzu's Art of War for Traders and Investors (Hardcover)
I'm somewhat surprised by the negative reviews on this book. Maybe it's not a perfect interpretation of the Art of War....so what. Maybe there are not a lot of words or text.....you're probably right. And maybe it's not worth [$$$] to some....it's the words on the paper, not the paper.

But for an active investor who doesn't need more information but needs to regain their discipline, adaptability, money management, and risk management skills, this can be a very good read.

I'm not one to blast other authors or think that there's a lot of money in writing books because it takes a lot of time and effort with little chance of reward to produce these books. But hostile reviewers can be a tremendous disservice.

In this case, this book deserves better. You can argue with the packaging, but the message is clearly right on. And in the area of investing and trading, this is what you truly want.

I happily spent the money and reread it every year.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, March 20, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Sun Tzu's Art of War for Traders and Investors (Hardcover)
Not worth the $19.95. If you have read Sun Tzu's actual book, you can easily decipher the corelation between military strategies and trading. Lundell mainly gives you positive thoughts to inject into your trading mind. The posted 209-page text is very misleading; most pages only have a paragraph or one sentence of "knowledge". This book could have been compressed onto a few pages of full-scap.
