Sun Warrior graciously sent me a couple of samples to try--natural and vanilla--which was really great because the reviews on here are fairly mixed. I am new to the whole plant-based, non-soy protein, so I am trying to find one that I like. So far, I have tried Garden of Life Raw Protein and have left a review for that one, which I also find to be pretty darn good if it's made right and you use a little creativity. The same with this one. I did what some others have done and I mixed the vanilla and the natural because I am not crazy about things sweetened with too much stevia and I can definitely see that if you used the vanilla alone with even a banana, it might be too sweet. On the other hand, perhaps the vanilla mixed with raw cacao or unsweetened cocoa would be perfect.....But anyway, I used my Vita-Mix (and I'm sure any blender would do) and to that I added water and frozen bananas and half each of the vanilla and natural powders. I tasted it and it was really good, but I decided to also add a couple spoonfuls of raw cacao powder and blend again and that was pretty fantastic. After I took a couple more sips of that, I decided to add about a teaspoon of mesquite powder, which gave it a little malty flavor with a little more added sweetness. This was also very very good.

So, I'm pretty pleased with this protein powder. I think compared to GOL Raw Protein, as far as taste, this one might have a little less flavor, but right now, I really can't say that one is better or worse than the other. What I like about GOL Raw Protein and not about Sun Warrior though is that GOL Raw Protein is organic, so that is one thing against Sun Warrior. Other than that, they are both raw products with tons of nutrients and I like them both. I personally prefer the vanilla or natural flavors so that I can add in flavors that I want and I can create a chocolate shake with either one by adding raw cacao powder. I think next I will try what someone else suggested and blend it up with mangoes or maybe mangoes and bananas. What I like is the ability to really be creative with both the Sun Warrior vanilla and natural and also the GOL Raw Protein--both to me are very good and I would recommend either one--but blending is best in my opinion. I'm trying Vega next and will more than likely submit a review as well....

I have not tried either products just mixed in a shaker with water and I can't see where either one would be especially palatable, but surely, Sun Warrior natural would probably be okay just mixed with apple juice and certainly orange juice in a shaker cup. The vanilla would likely be too sweet--at least for me. I would say anyone who finds these distasteful in anyway should try again, blending with bananas or cacao or chocolate powder or things like that. I drank my shake down in no time and will probably be ordering full packages from Amazon from now on. I think these vegan proteins are pretty fun actually and best of all, you're getting a very good amount of protein without any added crap or fillers.

I have a lot of allergies, so the choices are limited for me. Even if I could choose from every protein product out there, I'd still choose Sun Warrior. It is delicious! I also love the new packaging. Instead of a big, bulky plastic jar, now it comes in a resealable pouch. It takes up less space on my shelf and less space in the landfill.

ok i wont lie to you, at first the taste is pretty bad, reminds me of chalk. However over a little bit of a time it no longer bothers you and in some ways you begin to crave it. That aside however this product is phenomenal. I used to suffer from a lot of indigestion and water retention using whey but now that ive switched to this product my abs and overall physique have improved and i definitely feel a lot better. It almost feels like my gut is "cleaner" now since im not always bloated and what not. If your looking for taste it may not be the best but if your looking for quality i definitely recommend this product.
