We have tried SunButter Natural, as well as this no stir variety, and liked them both equally. The consistency is a bit runnier than peanut butter, but storing it in the refrigerator thickens it up a bit.
As for the flavor, it tastes like... well... sunflower seeds. If you don't like sunflower seeds you won't like this. But the flavor is also somewhat reminiscent of peanut butter, as is the mouthfeel. Both Mrs. Boilermate and I really like the flavor of this. One of my "guilty pleasures" is a toasted English muffin with butter and peanut butter. SunButter is a perfect substitute for peanut butter. It really goes well on celery, and it makes a fine Fluffernutter as well.
SunButter Natural is good enough to stand on its own, and not just an "alternative to something better." If someone you know suffers from a peanut allergy I highly recommend this as an alternative to peanut butter, but I also highly recommend it to everybody else as a tasty reasonably priced nut butter.
And it can make a kid that's allergic to peanuts very HAPPY!!!!!
Sunbutter tastes fantastic, I think I like it even better than peanut butter and my daughter loves it! She is severely allergic to peanuts and it is so nice to have an alternative for her. Her preschool uses sunbutter on field trips and outings as well! Kids love it!!! I love it!!!

Has the consistency of natural peanut butter and a mild taste. Great for baking, just reduce the baking powder/baking soda unless you want naturally green baked goods.Published 19 months ago by Purple_Cat

This taste unbelievably like peanut butter. A nice rich creamy peanut butter. If your child likes peanut butter and is in a nut free environment this is a good choice. Read morePublished on August 18, 2013 by austin_Larry

Sunflower butter has a very strong taste, much stronger in my opinion than peanut butter. In fact it's too strong for me, but thankfully my preschooler loves it. Read morePublished on August 8, 2013 by Robyn
