I've been using the Cacao butter available from Wilderness Family Naturals, but I ran out, and they take a little while to deliver, so I ordered a pound of this since I was able to have it delivered on a Saturday and get it right away.

This cacao butter seems to be substantially higher quality than the one from Wilderness Family Naturals (which is also organic).

I once attended a chocolate tasting class, and we learned about how good chocolates have undertones of different flavors--berry flavors, or leather, or tobacco, or a woodsy flavor, or marshmallow, or so forth. It was a really cool class. Anyhow, this cacao butter reminded me of that class, because it has a very complex flavor which seemed to have undertones of raisin and leather. Interesting, right?

I ordered this to use as part of the chocolate coating on some peanut butter cups that I was making. My husband said he likes these peanut butter cups better than the ones with the Wilderness Family Naturals cacao butter. I have mixed feelings about it, because I already liked the other ones!

In either case, though, based on the complexity of the flavor, it's clear that this cacao butter is VERY high quality, and comes from select cacao.

I highly recommend this cacao butter to anyone looking for top of the line cacao butter.

I purchased this with the Cacao paste. The Cacao paste came packaged in a zipped and sealed plastic bag. The Cacao butter bag arrived zipped, unsealed, and the plastic past the zipping area was dirty, which leads me to believe someone already opened this bag, which now I find out is not eligible for return.
So, I won't be purchasing from Sunfood again!

Great product, arrived quickly.
I use this to make raw vegan chocolate candy, which is delicious.
This keeps the candy from melting at room temperature.
Thanks!

Makes delicious white chocolate, even tastes pretty good just by itself. Chops into chunks/blocks pretty easily and cleanly. Smells divine. What more could I ask for!

Easy to use ingredient in chocolate treats along with cacao powder (which is where the black color comes from) and a bit of coconut oil, and a whole lot of stevia / xylitol mixture to sweeten the bitter but creamy cacao, leaving a refreshing, sub-minty aftertaste. They xylitol is a "sugar alcohol" which is actually good for your teeth as it repels plaque by pH changes on the coated tooth surface. I also use toothpaste and mouth rinse with xylitol, a calorie-free sweetener good for diabetics, as is stevia. Put 5 oz of the cacao butter in a dry plastic tub atop some simmering water until it melts. I add a couple tablespoons of coconut oil for taste and nutritional value. The more coconut oil the softer your resulting chocolate. Don't let it get wet! When melted take the tub off the hot water and add the sweeteners to taste - a lot! Cacao is very bitter but extremely nutritious, properly classed as a "super food" due to the fact it contains the most powerful antioxidant activity known of any food including blueberries, grape seed extract, etc. and will help slow aging if eaten regularly. Add almond slices or other nuts and pour into ice cube trays for freezing. When it's frozen its done and can be kept in freezer or fridge, depending on how hard you want it. One caveat: chocolate contains a lot of magnesium along with its more renowned high iron content. Magnesium is a great mineral but can give those who aren't used to it diarrhea. Caution! Don't overdo it until your tolerance has increased!

Dietary restrictions impelled me to start making my own soy ice cream. Problem with soy is that it doesn't have enough fat to ensure a creamy product. I purchased this cacao butter as a way to increase the fat content, since I can't use cream. I have now perfected the ultimate dark chocolate/peanut butter with a hint of cayenne, soy ice cream.

I've use a few different brands of Cacao Butter and this one has been the best for flavor and aroma. It has a rich cacao flavor that is not overpowering. Perfect for raw food creations.
