These handlebars fit trigger shifters or rotary-brake combo shifters. However, most rotary shifters except for SRAM's Shorty don't fit.

Other than that little caveat, these handlebars will stop a backache, add some performance, and of course they'll add a lot of comfort.

A Wald Steel version is available that does fit rotary shifters with seperate brake levers.

However, this Pyramid alloy version will make your bike lighter.

Note: Their optional use is drop bars for a mountain bike whereby these would go upside down and wrapped with bar tape--stuck out on the end of a long riser stem. This provides a wide variety of grip points and a lot of double-takes.

I purchased this handlebar to replace the stock handlebar on a 24" mountain bike. The stock handlebar was straight causing the rider to hunch over and this was not comfortable. This handlebar was priced right and looked to be just what was needed. I am very pleased! Now, the rider can sit up straighter due to the curving inward of the handles like what you would find on a cruiser bike. The change in handlebar positioning did cause the brake cable to be too short but this was easily remedied by my handy husband after purchasing new longer cables. The 21" width of this product is also just the perfect size for a smaller 24" bike (in comparison to a 26" bike). In my opinion, if you are looking to replace your existing handlebars, these are a great choice!

I used this handlebar to replace drop bars on an old but fairly light road bike. I also replaced the steering stem with one that raised the handlebar. This is a light handlebar, and fairly narrow at 21", so it works very well on a light road bike. It's very comfortable, and places the grips right where one's hands naturally fall. The bar is nicely finished, and feels to be quite strong. I'm very pleased with the purchase of this handlebar, and plan to apply the same treatment to another bike in the near future.

My mountain bike handle bars made my wrists hurt, so I ordered this one. It works great. The front brake cable is slightly short, but it worked. I switched the gear shifters and brake handles for a better reach. The whole change took about 2 hours, but I had no previous bike maintenance know how and adjustments took a while. Also, it took about half an hour to get the hex screws loosened.

I do a lot of urban commuting and am pleased with this bar. It is pretty narrow, about 5 or 6 inches less than my mountain bike bars. This is great for squeezing through tight spots. Also the rise provides a good vantage point to observe traffic. Much lighter than a steel bar, but seems just as strong. All in all, I am pleased with this product.

I am comparing this handlebar with Wald's 867. I own both. Sunlite's is lighter and has a nicer finish. As others have mentioned, it also has a much longer straight grip surface. This will allow you to easily install virtually all normal brake levers and grips without any issues. However, I was hoping to use this handlebar with Tektro's "inverse" brake levers for a French-style remodel. Unfortunately, the inner part of the tube is too narrow. So, Sunlite's handlebar will not work with such levers. On the other hand, I was able to use Wald's 867 handlebar successfully for that purpose. Using inverse brakes is also a great way to save precious grip surface on Wald's handlebar. On Wald's, you will be out of room very quickly unless you use short "old-school" brake levers or short grips of some kind.

I wanted to transform my mountain bike into a roadster/cruiser type, and this handlebar does the job perfectly.

I feels very solid, resistant and strong.

Give a great look to your bike.

But you will probably have to replace your brake and shifter cables. I put these on a 2001 Specialized Crossroads hybrid, and they look great. The cables I had were way too short, though. I don't think these handlebars will work with grip shifters. They would be fantastic on a cruiser, single-speed or even a kid's bike.
