I read about these lights in Newsweek about 5 years ago. Since that time, I have purchased over 150 BOGOs for my family, for charities, as traveling gifts for friends going to remote places, graduation gifts, etc. Through their website, I purchased them in bulk to give away and also to send to LightHaiti.org. My 86 year old environmentally conscious dad has been using his BOGO light on the same battery for over 5 years! His BOGO has turned light orange in color but still works great. He eats breakfast by it and forces visitors to use in in an attempt to avoid turning on the lights. I think this is the only gift that he has appreciated in the past 20 years because he is at that age when he doesn't want extra stuff.

This solar powered flashlight is awesome to use. I actually bought it from the item's site, where you buy one & for another $20.00 they will donate one to someplace in the world that needs it, or you can choose the organization to donate it to. It actually doesn't work in direct light but works in dim light or in the dark after letting it charge in natural light. You can't overcharge it, & it will work all night if needed. (I haven't actually tried that yet). The promo says that they are trying to eliminate deaths caused by kerosene lamp fires in developing countries. I highly recommend this flashlight for any home emergency kit or general use.

I purchased this from the manufacturers site 4 years ago. I have used it in many kinds of conditions, even weather exposed, and it has never failed. I have never had to change the batteries, and it remains as bright as ever. As a test, after 4 years of use I charged it, and then left it on (low, similar to night-light) over night. It shone for 10 hours and 16 minutes before going out. Not bad for original batteries and a 6 hour solar charge! It recharged perfectly and is still performing like the first day I bought it. I love it!

My first experience with SunNight was with the mini-bogo. A bit smaller and has only one setting. On and off. It has lasted for years and is still my old stand-by. The SN-2 arrived with dead batteries which would not charge up and aren't cheap but since I loved the mini-bogo I went and bought new batteries for it. Time will tell if it was a problem with the batteries or if the solar cell doesn't charge. But it is working now. Another feature that I find excessive is that it has 6 settings! 2 groups of high/medium and low brightness. Why? I would have preferred a simple on and off or maybe one high and one low setting. But as is you have to punch through all the settings just to turn it off. But I will get used to it. I still love the light and the concept of it's developement. But if I could, I would love to see the mini-bogo back in production. That one is simple and classic.

Buy one give one.....this is a win win deal for all. I bought several back in 2007 to give with Christmas gifts. I put new batteries in them, and they are all still on that first set of batteries. As long as the solar panel gets sunlight, it will keep your batteries charged. And when you buy one, you get to donate one to a worthy person or cause. You won't be sorry you took time to order one (or more). Not to mention if you lose power for any reason, this is one reliable flashlight.
