This solar powered flashlight is awesome to use. I actually bought it from the item's site, where you buy one & for another $20.00 they will donate one to someplace in the world that needs it, or you can choose the organization to donate it to. It actually doesn't work in direct light but works in dim light or in the dark after letting it charge in natural light. You can't overcharge it, & it will work all night if needed. (I haven't actually tried that yet). The promo says that they are trying to eliminate deaths caused by kerosene lamp fires in developing countries. I highly recommend this flashlight for any home emergency kit or general use.

I read about these lights in Newsweek about 5 years ago. Since that time, I have purchased over 150 BOGOs for my family, for charities, as traveling gifts for friends going to remote places, graduation gifts, etc. Through their website, I purchased them in bulk to give away and also to send to LightHaiti.org. My 86 year old environmentally conscious dad has been using his BOGO light on the same battery for over 5 years! His BOGO has turned light orange in color but still works great. He eats breakfast by it and forces visitors to use in in an attempt to avoid turning on the lights. I think this is the only gift that he has appreciated in the past 20 years because he is at that age when he doesn't want extra stuff.

Never wast batteries again. This flash-lite is very bright and great for everything from camping to the house during a power outage. Can be used for hours without problems. I have never had it die on me.

I purchased this from the manufacturers site 4 years ago. I have used it in many kinds of conditions, even weather exposed, and it has never failed. I have never had to change the batteries, and it remains as bright as ever. As a test, after 4 years of use I charged it, and then left it on (low, similar to night-light) over night. It shone for 10 hours and 16 minutes before going out. Not bad for original batteries and a 6 hour solar charge! It recharged perfectly and is still performing like the first day I bought it. I love it!

You will find that most flashlights-with-solar-cells dont work very well.

The development of this flashlight was funded with a very large grant by the Rockefeller Foundation to develop a very usuable light by volunteers in Africa.

You can also use this as a solar AA battery charger; for an even better upgrade, replace the stock AA batteries with low self-discharge NiMH cells for an always-ready light. This is easy to do.

Pay the extra money for this light which really works rather than a lower price for one that really doesnt.

I packed a BoGoLight into my suitcase for emergency. I never had to use it, but three weeks later when I took it out of the dark it still worked. Its a great product, I love it.
