I can't believe it's so inexpensive! And especially because it's very well made!Bought it to use its parts in my sears fun-gun electric cookie press -- and they do fit nicely. But even better, this Sunbeam cookie/icing press is very well made, and with 12 cookie patterns and 8 icing tips -- wow! Especially nice: the icing tips screw on to their "holder", so breakage of the whole icing section is very unlikely. (My fun-gun wasn't quite so lucky -- its combined tip+holder did break.)

Thrilled that it works and for only $4.99,

I bought this for piping. I am not too stressed out about whether it spritzes cookie dough properly. It's a trigger type in that you squeeze to click another notch on the stem to lower the presser onto the dough. This is the type that is recommended by America's Test Kitchen. I took a chance on it because it was five dollars in a Friday sale. I am very happy that on my first go using an enormous recipe (3 sticks of butter and 4 cups of flour) that the cookie press absolutely works. It's simple and it works.I used the recipe from an old Better Homes and Garden New Cook Book (the red plaid binder.)

Not what I expected,

I've been making cookies with a press for years and decide to replace my old press with this one about two years ago. I didn't like the way this press worked at all, neither did my daughter. Many times we had the dough lift off the sheet when lifting up the press, very frustrating. Needless to say, we threw this one out after the holidays last year and we're in search of a different one this year.

I bought this for my daughter's 12th birthday. She loves to decorate and make cookies. I have never used any kind of cookie press before. This does not come with any detailed instructions. It took us a bit to figure out why the cookies would not drop off from the press to the cookie sheet. We found out that you had to keep the handle pressed in for the cookie to separate from the press. Do not release the handle until the cookie has dropped. Other than that, she has used it and it seems like it is easy and for the money you can't go wrong. We made the recipe for dough that came with the press - we thought it was gross. We have used sugar cookie dough and peanut butter cookie dough and it works fine.

DO NOT BUY,

This was the worst cookie press I have ever used. I thought sunbeam made a good product but this must have missed the inspection. Its a glorified caulking gun but I think the caulking gun would work better. This flimsy product contantly got stuck and quite often would pull the whole cookie up with it. Please save yourself the frustration and spend the money on something else.

Not as good as I had hoped,

I had purchased this product in the high hopes that it would perform as well as my last cookie press. Sadly it has not. The "clicker" action in the trigger is not strong enough to be pushed and go to the next "click", and so I end up pushing on it to help it along. It does the job, I had just hoped for a little more.

Not bad for the price,

The press arrived just in time for the holiday and worked pretty well. The cookies turned out fine, and cleaning the press was easy. The only knock is that the trigger mechanism is inconsistent when making large batches of press cookies. Sometimes it clicks at just the right amount of dough, and other times it puts out too much.Given the price, this is a good buy for once-a-year cookie bakers.

I bought one of these presses to do my holiday baking, and it pressed out 30 dozen cookies. The only issue that arose after about 10 dozen was that the press wouldn't always "click" to the next place on the first try, so I'd have to press the handle multiple times. Overall, I'm very satisfied and it's still in good enough shape to use next year.

This was my first cookie press I ever bought. Happy with the price, you get what you pay for though. Worked great for animal cookies and peanut butter but some of them stuck to the press. Small kids enjoyed it. After several, about a years worth of use it broke. Still can use it but it sticks & some times wont 'shoot'. Now in search for another one because this one has got me hooked, only if it didn't break.

broke on second use,

We used this twice for making spritzes, and on the second batch the plastic cap on the end of the plunger (which pushes the dough out) developed a large crack in it. This resulted in most of the cookie dough squirting up into the chamber (where it's not supposed to be) and we had to quit. Granted, we didn't pay a lot for it, but I had hoped for better quality from Sunbeam.
