The unit's Spray Mist system dampens fabric to aid in removing wrinkles from heavy fabrics and for setting creases. In addition, its Shot of Steam function provides an extra burst of steam to deeply penetrate and smooth out stubborn wrinkles. Holding the iron in a vertical position allows for using it as a steamer on hanging garments or drapes. For safety and convenience, the iron offers three-way Motion Smart automatic shut-off. With the iron plugged in, the power indicator will light steadily. If the iron gets left in a horizontal position or accidentally tipped over, it will automatically stop heating after 30 seconds. If the iron gets left in a vertical position (on its heel rest), the iron will automatically turn off after 15 minutes. In both scenarios, the power indicator will blink to show that the iron has stopped heating and will continue to blink until the iron gets unplugged or reset. To reset the iron, move it back and forth and allow it to reheat for two minutes. The indicator will stop blinking and the iron will start heating again. Other details include a stainless soleplate for smooth gliding, a fabric select dial, a covered water fill hole, a see-through water reservoir, and drip-free operation even at low temperatures. A complimentary water cup for ease of use in filling the water hole comes included. The iron measures approximately 5-2/7 by 12 by 6-1/2 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

This is a great iron. No, really, it is! Produces lots of steam, nice stainless steel plate, all controls are simple and user friendly. I only gave it 4 stars because the spout where you pour the water in is really small, so it's kinda tricky to fill with water without spilling some. Also you do have to put some elbow grease into stubborn wrinkles in a heavy fabric like denim. But, this iron does not leak water, steams well, and of course, you just can't beat the Amazon price!

I just can't figure out how this iron works really. Whatever position it is - whereever or whenever. I am just sorry I bought and wasted money and time in purchasing this item. And yes - I read the instruction and everything needed to be aware of.

The Sunbeam is not the best iron on the market, but it looks nice. It requires water to get hot and then you will have to turn it to the proper fabric level to get some results. It is not a plug and go iron, it requires attention. However, it is safe for a home with children, since is cools itself down when not in use and it is never to hot for the touch. The iron will shut itself off if you leave it a few minutes, so it has its own brain. Therefore, if you have children I would suggest you purchase this very safe iron, but expect to work at ironing your clothes.
