After disappointing results over the years with a number of fancy toasters that just didn't toast, I finally decided to try this inexpensive but highly rated Sunbeam. The 4-slice model that I bought has two separate sets of controls, rather than a pair of oversize slots as some 4-slice toasters do. This is a great design feature when two people like different doneness. Toasting fairly rapid, and the results have been spot on--no need to "retoast". The recommendation is a 12" clearance above the toaster to avoid heat damage to cabinets, but the Sunbeam is extremely light weight, despite its bulky appearance, so it's easy to move away from hanging cabinets, if necessary. The Sunbeam 4-slice was a good choice, and I'm very happy with it.

After going through three 4-slice toasters from other manufacturers, I have finally found one that meets expectations - mainly, even toasting. Results have been very good with toast, waffles & bagels.

This toaster was a replacement for one that took several minutes to toast a slice of bread. It looks nice, works well and toasts pretty quickly, but one of the self-adjusting slots does not self-adjust any more. Other than the slot problem, I do recommend this toaster.

This toaster has great features and looks good. We enjoyed it while it lasted, which unfortunately was less than 6 months. We will replace it with a Black and Decker.

This is an inexpensive toaster. And as it has been said "You get what you pay for". It is not made well at all, and does not toast the bread well either. The toast is not evenly toasted and in general does not perform well. I would not recommend it.

I had always thought that a toaster was a toaster until we got this one! Can you say, WOW! The toast is held on centre by the toaster, so the bread is toasted the exact same amount on both sides. What a difference that makes.

We have a toaster oven that does not toast well. The oven works well but that's it! So I started shopping for a regular toaster and found this one. Bottom line - we love this. Both toast and bagels come out perfect! Very pleased!

The machine seems durable but it is quite large and takes up a lot of room. I like the easy cleaning feature where the bottom crumb trays slide out. However, it doesn't seem to toast the bread evenly on both sides.

My last four slice toaster was longer and more rectangular - two slices of bread could be put in together, which meant that really long slices could be toasted. So I miss that feature. A really long slice of bread has to be cut in half to fit in this toaster.

I wouldn't buy this particular toaster again.

The only reason this didn't get only one star is that it barely works as opposed to being a complete dud. Half the toasting elements work properly which means it's necessary to turn whatever your toasting to get an even result. Half a turn on the timing knob-which lacks any calibration-produces a half baked effort to time things. When you look at the slots, and then try and insert something, you find it only accepts things half as big as one would expect. The cord is half as long as needs be. But it looks great on the counter but it's a half baked idea to buy it for the design only.
