When to use a Humidifier
Cool Mist Humidifiers help provide relief from dry air caused by year-round heating and cooling. A comfortable humidity level is between 40% and 50%. Breath easier, sleep more comfortably with cool, moisture-laden air.
Selecting a Humidifier
- Steam Vaporizer - Warm mist can be used with eucalyptus inhalant. Intended for localized, occasional use to help relieve discomforts associated with coughs, colds, flu and allergies.
- Impeller Humidifier - Adds moisture to dry rooms using a simple, but effective centrifugal force mechanism that pressurizes air and water into water vapor.
- Evaporative Humidifier - Creates uniform, invisible cool mist by passing dry air through a saturated wick filter through the use of a quiet fan.
- Ultrasonic Humidifier - Disperses very fine mist particles that are easily absorbed in the air. An ultrasonic nebulizer atomizes the water to create visible mist.
Helpful Hints:
- Select a humidifier with a moisture output appropriate to the room size.
- Indoor relative humidity should be kept between 40% and 50% for a recommended comfort level
- Tank capacity varies by model; always have water in the tank when operating the unit.
- For best results, clean water tank often and use distilled water.

Not effective as a humidifier,

I bought two of these humidifiers for my daughters' rooms, which are fairly small. I liked the size of this model as well as the fact that it didn't have a filter that would need replacing. I returned both of them soon after receiving them. They blew a mist of water about six inches straight up, which proceeded to fall back down, drenching the humidifier as well as whatever surface I put it on. It was not effective at increasing the humidity in the room at all. Plus, on the lowest setting it only lasted for about 6-7 hours. I wouldn't recommend this humidifier to anybody.

1. it doesnt last up to 10 hours...on the low setting, it lasts up to 7 hrs at the most. which is highly dissappointing.
2. Since this is my 1st humidifier ever, i dont have a basis of comparison for how well it works though. However, when i woke up this morning, my nose didnt hurt half as bad from being dried out.

doesn't work,

i purchased this for my small dorm room, set it right next to my bed and there was no change in humidity. you have to stick your face on top of the mist to even notice a difference. it lasted 6 hours at most, it woun't even last a whole night.
