Bought this iron to use on trip to France staying in hotels without irons in room or where I did not want to use laundry facility. Strange as it seems I iron every day - pants, lab coat kid's clothes which my wife finds funny as she never irons. I tend to be a perfectionist so like to iron my own stuff.

I have owned four travel irons over the years but this is the first that did not spit - not once - or leave wet spots on clothes that take forever to get out. In fact it performed as well as my full-size Rowenta iron. I did follow the instructions about filling with water but I don't know if this made the difference. I am truly impressed with this product.

When I needed to pack one day I found I could use cold water to cool the plate down if careful attention was paid anfd the handle part was not too hot to pack. I know this is probably not recommended but I have done it before

If i had a niggle, maybe half-a-star, it would be the "extra steam" function is a little awkward owing to the price of the iron I'd guess. The buttons work and deliver the extra steam useful for ironing cotton shirts etc but are a little stiff in use. Not too bad but just not great,

A dedicated bag would be nice too but it is not a deal breaker

I love it, it works well, I do a lot of quilting and found it works better then my regular big iron, because of the size of it. I am very pleased with it. Worth the money

I bought this little iron to use for sewing purposes because I was tired of hogging the regular sized iron in our house. I received it in the mail today and immediately opened it. I was really excited to give this mini iron a try. The only gripe I have about this iron is the light. The light goes on when it warms up for your desired setting and then turns off. There is no light indication that the iron is still on. Otherwise, it's great! I tested the ironing capabilities by ironing an extremely wrinkled piece of heavyweight canvas that I had washed and didn't iron after. It's been crumpled in my fabric stash for months. This little iron and its steam function took care of those wrinkles. I was very impressed with how quickly it heated up. Putting water in the iron was very easy. The steam function works just like a regular sized iron. I would use this to iron my clothes too. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase.

The Sunbeam GCSBTR-100 Travel Iron is an excellent choice for an iron you need when traveling. It's ergonomically easy on the hands, lightweight to use, and easy to pack. Directions are specific, and easy to understand. The price is outstanding, and it doesn't get overheated like some regular size irons. The reservoir is easy to fill and empty. I would recommend this to anyone. However, there is one drawback -- it does not give off enough steam at low or medium heat. For maximum steam, you have to put it on high.

This is a big iron in a little package!!!! It irons very well. I was able to iron a cotton blend shirt with this baby (and even had to be careful I didn't burn it) because this iron packs a good punch. It might leak a little bit but this happens with any regular size iron and of course it packs well because its very compact. Love it!!!

For an iron of this size and price, it is amazingly good. You woldn't need anything else if you are student or traveller. Does not drop water while ironing, which is good. Practical.

I bought this iron to use for quilting. On max setting it gets very hot - it was uncomfortable to pick it up and use while on max. I keep it a little below max and it works fine. The shot of steam works well and I can press it to get a blast of steam when the steam setting is not on.

While quilting, I normally press my seam with my finger and follow it with the iron - I cannot do this if I have the steam setting turned on on the iron. It's way too hot to have my finger semi-close to the front of it with the steam setting on. I leave the steam off and press.

Side notes:
There is no automatic shut off.
Just after I fill it it leaks a bit. After the initial leak following a fill it will stop. Not sure if it's my error for filling it too full.

Boo, hiss.... :-( For approximately ONE month, I absolutely LOVED this little iron. I was using it to prep shapes for hand applique using the starch and press method, so I never even once filled it with water or attempted to use the steam function -- just used it for maybe 30 minutes or so on a daily basis, on the medium heat setting. I loved the diminutive size and shape, perfect for working on small fabric pieces at the mini-ironing board station I set up on my kitchen counter... But then the Teflon coating started melting off the bottom of the iron ONTO MY FABRIC PIECES!!! EEEEEEKKKK!!!!! This resulted in grayish silver smudge stains that may not come out in the wash. Totally unacceptable. And since this is sold as a travel iron, not a craft iron, I can just imagine some poor business traveler trying to press a white dress shirt before a big meeting, getting gray/silver Teflon melted all over his shirt in the hotel room. Uncool!
