This hand mixer has an incredible amount of power. I have used it to mix extremely thick batters (that burned the motor out of my previous hand mixer) without any problem at all. I guess this is to be expected from a hand mixer that comes with dough beaters! The mixer is built well and feels very solid. The stainless steel bowl that comes with the mixer has a tight lid and is also very durable.
I highly recommend this appliance to anyone who needs a hand mixer with real power.

The first impression you get when looking at this mixer is its compact size, which is a plus when trying to store it away. When you turn it on you immediately notice the power and durability of this product. Aside from the mixer's sleek stainless steel style, the mixer comes with a very nice stainless steel mixing bowl as well. For the price this is a very good product, a must buy.

I haven't received my mixer as yet, as I just purchased it from QVC for several dollars less on clearance.

However, in reading the majority of reviews on both Amazon & QVC 99% of the buyers of this mixer were quite pleased with it.

I have noticed a few comments with regard to it no having a slow enough first stir speed. If you need to stir something, stir it by hand why would you even need an electric mixer just to stir?

The only other issue buyers mentioned, was that the beaters were difficult to eject. I called Sunbeam and spoke to a CSR in order to get more information on this particular mixer. So I asked her about the beater ejection issue buyers were mentioning in their comments. The CSR told me, you're not suppose to press the beater ejection button straight down, the ejector button needs to be pulled back with your thumb, then push down on the ejector button. This will release & eject the beaters.

The other question I asked the CSR was about the silver brushed stainless steel finish on the body of the mixer. I wondered if the body was made of a die cast metal or plastic and just painted to look like it had a brushed stainless steel finish. The body is in fact plastic, with a painted brushed stainless finish.

I'll update my review in a few days after I put the mixer through a few tests in my own kitchen.

This mixer in spite of its smaller size has exceptional power & torque. No bogging down of power what so ever, even mixing heavy bread dough. Nor did I have any problem getting the beaters to release.

Thumbs up to Sunbeam on this one. EXCELLENT powerful hand held mixer.

The mixer is better than I expected in quality. Burned out two other makes in the last year. I expect this to last a long time. The only complaint is the low speed is faster than I would like.

I was hoping for a mixer with a slow speed, but this one goes right to fast on the lowest marked speed on the dial. All other features are very good. Nice sturdy unit.

For years, small appliance makers have been force feeding us an endless stream of wimpy hand mixers. The last one my wife bought had the wire beaters, and once that was our only working mixer, the combination of its low power and the wire beaters meant that no amount of mixing would get mashed potatoes perfectly smooth. I finally got tired of that and took action. Surprisingly, it wasn't easy to find a good mixer. All I found for quite some time was the same wimpy type we already owned.

Finally I came across this Sunbeam model, which has a variety of beaters with it. Most importantly, this mixer is sold with the blade style beaters that are needed to do a really good job. The power of this mixer is also top notch. Not only did I get perfectly smooth mashed potatoes the first time out, they were mashed with no lumps in a very short span of mixing.

If this thing will mash potatoes to my satisfaction, it will pretty well cover any mixing task you can throw at it, guaranteed. The mixing bowl that comes with it is a nice extra. The mixer and all accessories fit comfortably into the bowl for storage, and an extra stainless steel mixing bowl is always useful around the kitchen.

It seemed like this mixer only had one speed on any setting -- high. Too high for box cake mix, which is what I would usually use a hand mixer for.
Also, the beaters were very hard to release. I had to use a pot holder and push down hard. I used a pot holder because the beater release is also the speed control, and it is hard to push in on the end of a lever.

Bought this mixer for my granddaughter. First I bought it for myself and absolutely loved it. Has the power of a stand mixer with the portability of a hand mixer. The real test of a mixer is how fast cream is whipped because my family always wants real whipped cream. When having guests speed in whipping cream for the dessert at the end of the meal is a real bonus! The power in this mixer in unequalled to anything I have owned in the past. Also like the idea of the covered bowl that came with the mixer. Have not yet tried the other beater attachments. Would recommend this mixer to anyone.

I received this and started using it the first day as I have arthritic hands and cannot mix dough with my own hands. It takes too much effort for the dough hooks to bring the dough together and I had to knead the dough at the end. It just is not helpful for me. Otherwise, the packaging is good, the mixer is sturdy and solidly built, just not enough for my needs. I now realize that I need a stand mixer that has sturdier dough hooks. The dough hooks that came with this machine are deceptive-looking in the picture. They are very thin, not as thick as they are shown in the picture.

This is by far the best hand mixer I ever purchased. It's a little heavy but that makes it all the better. My experience with Amazon is always A # 1.
