For the price ($30 at Costco) - a terrific iron.
Me ... single, professional, ironing challenged Being single for 15 yrs, I get to do my own ironing (shirts & pants for the most part). After my Black & Decker died after 30 years af faithful service, the hunt was on for a new iron. I looked at the $7 iron at Walmart to the $150 steamer machine. When I found the Sunbeam 4268 Professional Iron at Costco, I was turned off. I don't want to be a professional ironer. But by comparing price and fuction, and needing 1 immediately, I paid the $29.99. At 1400 watts, vs 1200 watts ... I don't know the benefit ... but guys like power! The larger ironing surface of the Sunbeam made ironing smooth and surprisingly faster. The digital electronic display with the material reference, made it simple to select the proper heat setting and know when it's ready. The "Shot of Steam" function, for those tough wrinkles, was made for me, because I batch process, so the clothes may sit in the basket a day, or week, or longer. And the "Verticle Steam" option lets you use the iron as a steamer. The auto-off function adds some piece of mind ... the old iron didn't have that. And Self Cleaning ... great ... call me when you have a self ironing model! For the price vs. function this is a good value!

Worked great for about 2 months,
This review is from: Sunbeam Professional 4268 Iron (Kitchen)
I purchased this iron from Target 2 months ago and it worked GREAT at first. The retractable cord is awesome! I only iron once a week so I've only used it about 8 times. I'm having problems with the auto shut off function. I wait for the iron to heat up and the light to turn green before I begin ironing. But it now constantly turns itself off - the indicator light turns red and then water begins leaking out while I'm in the middle of ironing. I have no idea why it is doing this. It shuts itself off about 3 or 4 times on every shirt I iron. It's a major pain. The water then leaks out and leaves water marks on the shirt. I'm throwing this thing away and purchasing one that is not a Sunbeam.

I had been looking for a new iron for quite a while. My Black & Decker Pro750 was on it's last leg after about 15 years. After reading the 5 star review for the Sunbeam Professional 4268 Iron. I decided to give it a shot. Well it really does work beautifully. Ironing is a breeze with this iron. Even better then my old trusty Black & Decker. I iron mostly dress pants, jeans and cotton or linen blouses. This iron makes ironing Linen a lot easier and I spend less time ironing. I am very happy with the Sunbeam Professional 4268 Iron. I don't miss my faithful B&D Pro750 anymore.
